Brand new emerson led tv has this red tint to it. I have the cable hooked up to the at&t u verse cable box and just a basic cable cord going from the cable box to my tv. Would a hdmi cable fix this

You would definitely want to try using a HDMI cable.
Your current hookup requires signal conversion too many times resulting is quality loss and more chances of introducting errors and this might be where your red tint is coming from.
Assuming AT&T is providing you digital signal at 720 resolution or higher, the box then has to convert back down to composite video (340 resolution) in order to send it to your TV over the basic cable cord. Your TV then takes this low resolution signal and blows it up to fit your nice new flat screen TV.
Skip all that and use HDMI and you'll get the best picture that your provider is sending you. The digital input stays digital and is passed onto your TV over the digital HDMI cable with no loss to video or audio.

When i hook up my ps3 to an emerson 19 in tv with an hdmi cable it says format not supported

Hi,
LCD Emerson only support screen with a 1440 x 900 720p resolution.
And PS3 has support 1080p or full HD.
You must arrange output HDMI resolution to 1440 x 900 or to 720p.
thanks.

How do i change from 480i to 1080 on my Toshiba 52HM95 DLP im trying to hook up my playstation 3 with an HDMI cable but it wont switch over to 1080i

Most TVs choose the resolution based on the signal coming in. Be careful if you try and use 1080P. Not all TVs support it. 1080P is only on HDMI. set the playstation to 1080i before connection.
Some TVs and Playstation HDMI do not mix well due to software in the HDMI ports. Try RGB cables.

DVD hooked up to sony bravia tv: have dvd power on, but can not get any set up menus (or anything) from dvd to show on tv screen.Unable to set up remote as menu does not appear on tv screen.

Hook up the player with RGB (Red-Green-Blue or component) cables and try the picture. If everything works OK, then go to the menu and turn on the HDMI output and set the resolution (if needed).
Not every HDMI unit works with every HDMI TV. You may also have a bad HDMI cable. On a DVD recorder, you may have your HDMI cable connected to HDMI IN. You must use HDMI out.

PS3 no picture problem..

Try using RGB cables and unplug the HDMI cable from the PS3, then while the PS3 is off, hold down the power button/sensor on the PS3 untill you hear a beep or a few beeps. This will force the PS3 to automatically detect the TV/cable resolution settings. Hope this works.

Can i connect toshiba satellite a205 to tv?

Yes VGA carries RGBHV--RGB and Horizontal and Vertical Sync information along with DDC info where available.

Now is that port on your TV a d-sub 15 pin standard VGA connector?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGA_connector

If it is, then yeah you should be able to output VGA from a PC to the TV with a proper cable.

However if the TV has DVI or HDMI connections on it, it's better for you to connect it that way. DVI/HDMI is a digital signal and if it's a digital-based display tech TV, then you're better off using that. Also if the TV does resolution above 1360x768 (i.e. if it does 1080p) you can get higher resolution by going via DVI/HDMI...
