..... what do you mean by 'manually sew a few stitches'?
If you test your foot control on another machine or vice versa, you can verify if it is the control. Has it sewn a little erratically lately? Could be the contact tracer pins in the foot control.

Make sure that the bobbin winder stop is up. That is the little black post below the bobbin winder. If it is pressed down, the machine will not run.

SOURCE: foot pedal doesn't work

You may need a new foot pedal. Find a small applicance repair shop and ask them if they can test the pedal. Take the machine with you.

SOURCE: My Viking 5710 starts to sew without any pressure on foot pedal

Mine does the exact same thing. I think the problem might lie in the cord to the foot pedal. The cord packs into the foot pedal for storage, which forces the cord to to remain bent during storage. I believe the wires in mind became damaged and broken so I took it apart and reconnected the wires at the spot where the connector meets with the wires. But I still don't leave it plugged in if I'm not using it, it could be a fire hazard.

Good evening madam
It sounds like there is something wrong with the electrical system in your sewing machine. You can check the power and connections.
good luck

Singer quantum will not turn on

Have you looked at your manual? I think that you would have to pick a stitch pattern, ie. straight, zigzag. Then width and length for the machine stitch. Now, press on the foot pedal.

I have a Pfaff 2140 sewing machine and when I depressed the foot control it did not sew, the lights work on the machine and I can manually sew a few stitches by turning the wheel. Is it a foot problem

Sounds like a foot control problem to me if the needle can still move up and down. Is it firmly pushed into the plug or is there something stuck under it? Give it a good clean and try pushing it down with your hand to see that it goes all the way. If it does and still does not activate the machine, it may need replacing

How to set 2140 for free motion sewing

Which model are you using? Creative 4.5?, On the newer machines it drops automatically once the embroidery attachment is hooked up. On older Creatives v2.x there is a slide lever in front of the presser foot on the front.

My juki serger mo-634de suddenly stopped working. Lights on, wheels and parts move freely, even stitching seems to work if I turn it manually, but nothing happens when I push the pedal. No sound. ...

Hi, I have the exact same machine. it sounds like the wire from the foot pedal to the machine is broken. You would still get power from the wall to the machine to light the light, but no 'gas pedal'. You could maybe get an electrian to test the connection under the foot pedal and if the wire is damaged? or maybe the part that plugs in the machine is cracked or damaged?
Good luck! Annette

Sewing machine does not sew. Finished sewing something, turned it off, then turned it on a few hours later and it will not work. Light is on but nothing happens when the foot pedal is pressed. Took apart...

Call Singer at 1-800-4singer and ask for their advice, you do not want to void your warranty with not going to an authorized repair service if it comes to that. Good luck

Singer 4210 does not work: it is plugged in, the light is on, but when pressing the pedal nothing happens.

Make sure that the foot pedal is correctly inserted and that you have selected a stitch pattern. Also, recheck your threading, totally rethread if needed, bobbin also

Foot control has no power

I've just fixed this problem by replacingthe main capacitor in the foot pedal. I have a Bernina 830. I needed a soldering iron, and I had to buy the right capacitor, but it fixed this exact problem. Btw, a few months ago this problem initially appeared (on my machine) as an issue where the speed was either zero, or full speed). After a white it wouldn't work at all.
