Question about Sansui Televison & Video

1 Answer

There is only a picture in the middle of the screen, and about 3-4 inches of black all the way around it. I went into the menu, but there is nothing there even remotely close to making it full screen. Any suggestions?

Main power supply regulator fault. The output voltage that come out from it is less than normal. If you wish to get more details, check this link. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Selecting the view option, either to Mosaic / Time slide, can be selected by the drop-down list, at the top left of the display window, will make surf easy. You can also do a search, by type in the brand name/model number/IC used, in the search box at the top right of the display window

iv'e run into this before, you have closed caption text 1,2,3 or 4 on. this is different than the normal "cc" cation. just go into your menu & turn off closed caption.

SOURCE: black display box (nothing in it) in middle of screen

Someone has accidentally turned the Close Caption Text mode on. Go into your menu locate the closed caption section and just navigate to turn it off and that's it.... sometimes the remote may have it on there labeled CC.

your closed caption is on, this might be set on the cable box or the tv, look in the audio or set menu. If you dont have the remotr you should be able to navigate the menu on the tv with the onset controls

This is a 26 inch toshiba lcd flat screen. the power went out for a while now I cannot get a full screen, just a black border around the edges. can you please advise me on what could be wrong, thanks will

Dear Friend: when TV is unplugged for a while, it goes into "factory default" settings. That's why you have 4:3 format of your picture settings, instead of "wide" or 16:9. check TV "screen" or "picture format" button, if it present on your TV(not a cable or satellite) remote control. If not, enter "menu" and find "display settings" and adjust it accordingly. Also: same issue might happen to your "boxes" Cable or Satellite. If those were without power for a while, same thing might happen to those. Check "menu" or call your provider, if needed.
Good luck,
Alex.

Screen went black with a vertical rainbow line down the middle

Failue of the vertical section, could be the drive, the power to the section or even some discrete componets. Unless you are familiar with electronics , get some help to ceck out on these circuits, could not be major but to get themain culprit will require good probing.

This is the closed captioning, even though it may not contain writing in the block. If you can access the main menu then you can try and turn the CC to off. Otherwise you are stuck with it.

Please rate this answer if it helped.
