Question about Heating & Cooling
Make sure you give it time. The fan has a time delay in heat mode and doesn't come on until it warms up first.

Do you have gas or electric heat. If you have gas then you do not have a heat pump. You should in most cases have a red, yellow, white, and green wires coming to the thermostat. R should go to rc/rh G should go to green Y should go to Y and w should go to W. Also the switches on back should be switched to non heat pump and gas rather than electric. Hope this helps.

The reversing valve coil may be bad or no power to it during cool. Most heatpumps are set to have the coil of the reversing valve energize in the cool mode. The heating mode is the fail safe mode if the rev valve fails to energize. Check this and let me know.

No, you probably have a bad evaporative fan motor, capacitor or switching. It usually takes a Pro 1/2 hour to track down such a problem with good training.

If you have changed the motor, I assume that the RPM is the same as the motor you have removed.?
Check the rotation of the new motor, if you have it turning in the wrong direction, it does not matter how fast it turns, it will not send enough air across the evaporator and condenser coils.
Also, if you have changed the motor, you should also change the run capacitor for the power motor.
Hope this info has helped you.
