Anti THEFT cuts off fuel pump and the ignition module. That is what it is for. The theft light on the dash should be on too. Something tripped the anti-theft system Try resetting the anti-theft module by locking and unlocking the drivers door with the key.
You probably can't. If the anti-theft module is in the cluster, you would need the correct key chip for the car the cluster came out of. You might be able to bypass the passkey system by running a wire to the fuel pump relay and other components. You may need a shop manual to find the circuits.
http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/ Go to that link. You are exactly right. The engine swap has confused the anti theft security system. It can disable the starter and/or the injectors/fuel. There are ways to bypass these systems. You can do it yourself too. Ive personally done dozens of these bypasses, and they work great. Good luck
Some of these anti theft security distress can shut offfuel to the injectors. This might be what's happening. Check out this link for info on the security system. There is a way to bypass the entire system. Right now you have bypassed the key and ignition part, but the TDM (theft deterrent module) is still there. This is the computer that runs the security system and might be giving you problems. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/
This has NOTHING to do with the fuel pump, and EVERYTHING to do with the security system. The problem is either in your key, ignition/lock cylinder, or TDM (theft deterrent module) AKA the "computer" or "brain". When the security doesnt read the key properly it goes into anti theft mode, The vehicle thinks its being stolen so it shuts off parts of the car. In your case the fuel or injectors. This is just a communication problem, the hard part is determining which part is failing. If it were my car, id just bypass the whole system. Check out this link. Tons of info, symptoms, and "DO IT YOURSELF" solutions. The answer to your problem IS on this site. Good luck
No, that won't work. The antitheft system shuts down the injectors not the fuel pump. You can bypass it with some resistors from radio shack but the easiest way to fix it is to replace the ignition lock cylinder. This is usually what is wrong.
On a 2003 Chevy Maibu the theft system light comes on and blinks when the system is triggered. The car will not start and the fuel pump cuts out. You must turn key to on and have all doors closed. Keep the key to on for 10 mins til theft light turns solid and then disappears. Then turn key to start and it should fire up.
check to see if the security light or anti theft light flashes. if that is the case, sounds like the bypass for the remote starter may be causeing the no start by tripping the anti theft system. Remove remote starter and bypass system and join any cut wires back together that may be cut for remote starter. Try starting, if theft light still flashes leave key in the on position after attempted start for 15 minutes till theft light goes solid, turn off and try again. Repeat process for three times to re-learn factory theft system in vehicle. If problem still persists, then take to your local dealer to reprogram factory theft module in the cluster.
It sounds like the computer chip in the key is bad. They get damaged really easy and that will cause the fuel pump to stop. If the "Theft" light is flashing continuously when you try to start it, that is the problem. You should be able to get a new key from the dealer or off ebay, and have it programmed. Should be under $100.
