SOURCE: timing on a Huskylock 535D surger

the eyes of the needles must line up with lower looper as they pass (timing) the distance between the needle and the looper must be exact. No distance between them and not touching. yep, that tight. they shouldnt move the needle even the slightest amount as they pass each other, yet no space between them.

SOURCE: Need Huskylock 535D all purpose need plate

The parts catalogs show this part as obsolete.

Try Googling the top Husqvarna Viking dealers to find one with spare parts from junker machines. Most dealers have a good supply of used plates.

I need to buy some needles for my huskylock 535D I live in Geraldton and have not been able to sorce them thought maybe I can buy some over the net or through an agent in Perth

I have been surfing the net and every where the husklock comes up it is attached to husqvarna
I suggest that you take the needle into a sewing machine shop and see if there is a needle the same as it basically there are several needle suppliers that cover all makes of machines
If you have a spotlight there then talk with the sewing section

What tool do you use to change the needle on a husqvarna huskylock 910

Most sergers/overlockers will come with a tool kit including a small flat blade screw driver and a set of tweezers. Both are needed to change a needle along with a steady hand and glasses in my case.

Turn the flywheel towards you until the needle bar is at highest point. If you can, swing the pressure foot out of the way or remove it. Ditto the upper blade, if you can swing it up and out of the way to give yourself plenty of clearance.

Then using your small screwdriver, gently turn the needle screw a half turn at a time until the needle is loose and drops out. NEVER undo the screw all the way out, just enough to get the new needle back in.

Most needle bars will hold two needles with two screws so getting both changed is a bit of a fiddle, I usually slide the new needle up into the slot, then hold it up into the housing with my tweezers while I tighten up the screwdriver. Or I'll hold the tip of the needle up in place using a long fingernail while doing up the screw. YOu may find you need to slightly undo the left needle screw in order to replace the right needle as the two needles sit alongside eachother in the housing very closely.

On most sergers the two needles sit at different heights so have a good look before you remove and then make sure you get the new needle back up into the housing all the way. Always test by winding through a stitch manually just to make sure the needle is clearing your loopers afterwards.

I cannot get the needles to stay in my Huskvarna Huskylock 936 serger. How can I get them to stay in?

I would say it is 2 things, first you don't have the screws loosened enough to get the needles up and in far enough, then make sure you have tightened them up enough, this should solve your problem. Also, the flat of the needle goes toward the back of the machine.

Needle seems to be hitting the plate and sounds

sounds like the sewing head is out of line. Suggest that it be serviced by an authorized Husqvarna Viking Dealer. You can find the nearest dealer by click on the "Dealer" link at http://www.husqvarnaviking.com
Good luck.
