When my remote central heating thermostat is in sleep mode the boiler will occasionally ignite of its own free will What can I do to prevent this.?

Many times the factory wiring on the boiler is set up to maintain boiler temperature with a built-in aqua-stat. The thermostat then controls the circulator pump to transfer heat from that loop to the structure. So, if this is the case, your programmable stat may just be controlling the circulator. There are many, many control AND piping configurations to boilers. Some very different than others.

Gas Boiler Condensing Best Features

Condensing boilers are the most efficient way to heat that there is today. The BTU’s that they wring out of the fuel put into them is the best of anything available today. Not only do they burn their fuel very well, they also have technologies built into them to help give then the highest efficiency possible on any given day.

Condensing gas boilers have been on the market for about twenty years now. The early boilers were noisy and very heavy. Today’s condensing boilers are not even remotely the same as their predecessors. There have been many improvements that make these boilers lighter, safer, and more reliable than ever.

Many of today’s condensing gas boilers are controlled by a computerized control that gives many options and features to customize your boiler to the type of system that it is being installed in. Not only does the control monitor the boiler, but it can be setup to control the whole heating system as well. This gives the added benefit of fewer controls and the saving of space. Circulator pumps, mixing controls, and injection pumps can all be controlled by the boiler control.

These technologies are things like sensors to make sure that they are running at the highest combustion efficiency possible or they will shut down. Outdoor reset controls will vary the water temperatures to make sure that the water temperature is only being heated as hot as is needed to make your house warm at any given outdoor temperature.
Sensors also monitor the supply and return water temperatures constantly to shut down the boiler if the boiler senses any unsafe conditions.
These boilers are so good that even if you fire the boiler before filling it with water, the boiler will shut off before it is damaged.

When looking at the boilers on the market today take into consideration all of the benefits of that the newer high efficiency boiler have to offer. High efficiency is really great, but there is so much more to them. The ease of installation because of the light weight of new condensing technology, the versatility of the controls that are incorporated into these boilers, and the outdoor reset technology that will save you fuel and make you much more comfortable.

How do I set the thermostat on my powermax 155 boiler so that the heating comes into action on a lower temperature

You should have a remote heat setting via a wall or on the front of the boiler dependant upon how it is set up. If in doubt as a Central heating engineer to install a remote one you can have next to you wherever you are in the house.

Ferroli boiler optimax he 38 c.Powers up ok,no hot water,no error code.Think its an ignition problem.Heating flame not showing?????

Is there an error code? If not the flow sensor for the hot water could be faulty. Also if you've had a power cut depending which model of Optimax HE you have, you sometimes have to tell the boiler it's a Combi, as they have a generic Pcb fitted which is also used on the system only boilers.

Siemens rdj10rf/set-gb problems with

There seems to be a common fault with the relay in the base unit box that's wired in to the boiler. If the black triangle is showing, the remote is demanding heat. If the two lights (green and orange) on the base unit are both lit, then it is paired and knows that heat is being demanded by the remote. However the relay sticks and doesn't actually supply current to the boiler. It can also stick in the on position so the house just keeps getting hotter. I've found that a couple of firm taps with my knuckles on the front of the base unit usually solves the problem temporarily, but if it keeps happening I think you need a new base unit (although I think you can only buy the complete kit).
