SOURCE: gas engineer wants to re-arrange coals correctly post service

yes he is right on that the postion off the coals have to be in the correct pstion to stop fire sooting and fumes coming from fire , if the coals are in postion you take them out and put them back the same as they came out , or there should be a picture of the coal lay out in the users book , or look on line for the make of fire , if the gas engneer cannot work this out then go to some one who can ,

this is basic gas fitting any gas fitter will know this if not walk away from them ,

hope this helps

My gas fire has just had new coals replaced nice. Then there are large flames forcing through the gaps of the coal making loud noises as if there is a draft or air combining from some we're trying to

Paul is correct, but also check the air ajustment for the burners. If you have real large yellow flame the shutter should be opened till you get a blue flame.

I have a valor dream slimline gas fire which the coals keep building up with soot and eventually blocking the pilot light, why does this happen? how can i resolve this problem?

The coals have either shifted or were installed improperly. They are causing flame impingement, which causes soot. If you have your Owners Manual consult that, for the proper placement of the coals.

Hope this helps you to solve the problem, Danny.
