here is the link to your manual:

You can set a desired subtitle, audio and menu
language. If the selected language is recorded on
the Disc, subtitles, audio and menu are displayed
in that language.
1 Touch “Language” and then touch
“Subtitle Language”, “Audio Language”
or “Menu Language”.
Each language menu is displayed and the currently
set language is selected.
2 Touch the desired language.
When you select “Others”, a language code
input display is shown. Input the four digit
code of the desired language then touch
➲ “Language Code Chart for DVD” ➞
from the manual:
English (en), 0514
❒ If the selected language is not recorded on
the disc, the default language specified on
the disc is output and displayed.
❒ You can also switch the subtitle and audio
language by touching “S.Title” or “Audio”
➲ “Changing the subtitle language during
playback (Multi-subtitle)” ➞ Page 75
➲ Changing audio language during playback
(Multi-audio) ➞ Page 75
❒ Even if you use “S.Title” or “Audio” to
switch the subtitle or audio language, this
does not affect the settings here.
Setting assist subtitles on or off

impaired. However, they are only displayed if they
are recorded on the DVD.

Hi, it is entirely likely there is a handbrake signal wire in your radio loom - this needs to be grounded for the dvd to work. you can permanently ground it.
DISCLAIMER - DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK because it is there to prevent the driver from watching the dvd INSTEAD OF THE ROAD.
ONLY DO THIS IF THE DRIVER CANNOT SEE THE SCREEN FROM THE DRIVERS SEAT - THE AUTHORITIES WILL LOVE YOU
