Question about Kenmore Elite 45986 Front Load Washer
Front belose (seal) leaks. Have purchased new seal from Kenmore and installed twice. Both times screw clamp holding belose to drum fell off during wash cycle. What am I doing wrong? Could I be tightening clamp too much? If anyone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated.
You must ensure the boot is properly seated on the outer tub, There is a groove in the lip of the tub and the boot, make sure grooves are fully mated. Also try getting a new clamp; the screw can back out releasing the tension, also fold the excess clamp that passes through the screw over backwards preventing the clamp from loosening, a few dabs of good super glue helps too and can still be removed (dont use much a few drops in four places is sufficent).
