I just bought a used Olevia LT23HVX 23inch TV. It is in excellent shape physically. It had no power cord, so I used one from my computer monitor. When I hit the power button a red indicator light comes on, but that is it. I have no remote either. I don't want to invest in a remote unless I know the tv works. Is there something else I can do to see if it works? I am not familiar with these TV's so I don't know if I have to have cable connected to it for it to do anything. Is this normal? I have it my office where I have no cable/satelite. Thanks for any help you can offer

I ended up taking it to a repair shop. It cost me $150. They said it was due to a power surge. For all I know it was nothing- but it sure works now.

I have the same problem. The only way to get it to power on is connecting a USB cable to the service port

Plug a cell phone charger in the service port on the back. The charger does fix the power problem. I did contact Olevia tech support after 2+ hours on the phone and they had not heard of the charger solution and did not recommend it but when the warrenty is out "what the hey". They did sell me a new power board which I installed and that fixed the problem. $50 and return the old one. Need to be familiar with computers or electronics to do yourself.
