I had the same problem with mine. I replaced the power supply and the problem was solved. That was about two months ago. Now I have the problem with a very brief blue screen, then going black with the sound still working. From what I have been able to find out it appears now that I have a bad power inverter. I will be replacing that next.
Does anyone have a problem with the screen looking cloudy? When my TV was working, I could see areas that looked like faint black clouds across the screen.

Your looking at profesional repair. It could be DC/DC convertor, Monitor unit or PC/IF unit. (last two are expensive)

I have one that does the exact same thing. I tested the power board and there's no voltage coming out of the 12V pins. Defective power board for sure, but good luck finding a replacement, and if so, pray it doesnt happen to that one, as it seems to be a common issue with this model. I'm doing more research as to what is failing on the board so i might perform the repair myself.

This is a classic switchmode power supply, shutting down to avoid a fire, explosion, or both. This set had developed a problem, that is so severe that the set must be shut down, This set should be removed from the Power, and in my professional recommendation, you should get a "Quote" for repair, from, an, Approved Service Center, Sharp in your case, Now, this last point is very important for a good result, Always contact, their local, "Head Office" Now, when you get the information you want, then you can decide as to repair of replacement. The reason we want an approved agent, is that way, all the engineers are trained on their own brand sets, they have seen almost all faults, and will get the job done quicker, and for less cost, and usually have parts on hand, also sometimes, there has been a service bulletin in issued and the repair may be subsided or even free.
