Toshiba Satellite A105-s2716 power-up password

I can not get past the start up password when booting. Is there any way to enter BIOS on starting since the systme will not get beyond this point? Any help greatly appreciated. Toy Doctor

Thanks for the response. I tried all of these and still only get to the Logo screen then "PASSWORD = and blinking cursor.
If I hold the F1 key, I get the Toshiba Logo Screen and no further.

    Thanks again.

Thanks for the response. I am still not getting past the "PASSWORD = " screen. Guess I'll have to take it to a "service center" for resolution.

    Thanks

Hi, usually to get into bios on a toshiba laptop you press and hold the Esc key or the F1 key. try both of these, if they dont work, try this: 1. Turn on computer by Holding down power button while pressing the ESC key. The machine will beep, then display: Check System, then press [F1] key. 2. Release ESC key 3. Press F1 key If none of these work, we may have a different problem all together, get back to me if so, and i will see if we can find a solution. Hope this helps! Si :)

Interchangeable parts

I dont think so as the S1712 uses the Atheros® 802.11 b/g wireless-LAN card and the s2716 uses the Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200BG card. You can call Toshiba TS to verify, but most likely they are not interchangeable as they are different. That doesn't mean that it is 100% a no go as it still might function, but chances are slim. Here are links to the specs for each machine:

I have a Toshiba Satellite A105-S2716 its about 3 years old and I have tried all extended life batteries but they don't charge.

Toshiba had issued a bulletin and a BIOS upgrade (version 2.0) to address the battery not charging/working issue (it's a bug in the system is what it is). Make sure that's done before contemplating any hardware changes or repairs.

Are all Satellite A105 15.4" screens the same? I

The LCD assembly will have a part number either on a paper sticker or printed on some empty real estate. Check for one that matches the structure of part number(s) listed on eBay.

Toshiba Satellite a105-S2716 keyboard doesn't work. Soda spilled on it. External USB keyboard does work. How do I fix it?

I think your Toshiba got grounded or short circuit inside. Better also to use USB Keyboard, it works.

My toshiba satellite a50, i want to change boot order to cd drive

You need to go into the bios or utility set up. At start up there will be a Toshiba screen, on this screen at the bottom, it will read something like, esc to enter bios, or F1 to enter bios, F10 to enter boot menu, at this point you will need to press which ever it says to go into bios. Bios can also be refereed to as utilities or utility set up. Now, if you change the boot order in the bios, it will always check the CD drive before the hard drive. If you only want or need to boot from the CD drive this one time, then you will need to go into the boot menu at start up. When you get to the boot menu, it will give you a list, then you choose CD drive. If you go the boot menu route, be sure the CD is in the drive when you select CD drive, otherwise it will see there is no CD and skip straight to the hard drive. Keep in mind that on some machines it blows right past the Toshiba screen, so you may have to try a couple of times or just be quick to make your selection as to bios or boot menu.
