Question about Sony Ericsson T610

Changed service, can't receive a signal

I couldn't get a T-Mobile signal when I moved, so I just switched to AT&T. However, with the new SIM card in, the phone only picks up a signal about 5-10% of the time. The SIM card works great in my wife's Treo, but either SIM card won't work in my t610.

ATT runs off of the 850 mhz bandwith while tmobile uses 900. The old phone you are using uses tmobiles bandwith and only catches 850 occasionaly. I would suggest trying to get an upgraded from ATT when you signed the contract

MY SIM CARD WONT WORK IN MY HTC INSPIRE

switch off your mobile and keep away your sim, insert another working sim in the mobile and turn-on your mobile... if this sim is working, then turn off your mobile and re-insert your old sim. now it will work.
in case mobile is not working with new sim, you have to replace the "signal chip" of your mobile.
Best of Luck!

Sir my pfone not show network

Hi,

As you are not getting network, below are the possible causes for that,

1. Your phone is not receiving any radio signals or the received signal is too weak.

Contact service provider and make sure that the network has a coverage where you are.If so try to do new search.

2. SIM card is not working properly.

Insert your sim in any other mobile. If you still get the same or similar message please contact your network provider.

3. Phone is not working properly

Insert your sim in any other mobile. If it works then the problem is with the mobile only. Please go to the nearest authorized dealer of your mobile make. They will rectify the problem.

Thank You

No network coverage

Phone is not receiving any radio signal / received signal is too weak:
Confirm that network coverage is available where you are by contacting your service provider.

SIM card is not working properly:

Insert your SIM card into another phone
Note: Contact your service provider if you get the same message again.
Phone is not working properly:
Insert your SIM card into another phone. If the second phone works with the inserted SIM card, then
the problem is probably with the first instrument.

Note: In this case, contact your nearest Sony Ericsson service center regarding your phone problem.

I have almost no signal and yet other phones on same network have full signal. Can I strenghten the signal?

First ensure that it is not a network related issue by using another sim card (if possible).
Try moving out to an open area for a better signal reception.
If your mobile still receives no signal, the radio transceiver might need to be replaced. If the phone is in warranty take it to the service center for free repairs. If the warranty has expired, you will have to pay for repairs.
I suggest you get a repair estimate and if it is close to a new handset, buy a new one.

SIM Cards and Unlocking your Phone What is a SIM?

Subscriber Identity Module (SIM): A smart card containing the telephone number of the customer, encoded network identification details such as: Call Forwarding, Caller ID, etc., the PIN, and other user data such as the phone book. T-Mobile customers can move their SIM card from any T-Mobile branded phone to any other T-Mobile branded phone without the need to contact Customer Service to activate the new phone. Your rate plan and phone number will follow your SIM to the new phone.

  • Insert SIM: Your SIM is either not inserted in your phone or is inserted improperly. Please remove and re-insert your SIM card. If you continue to receive this error message, your SIM card or phone may be defective. You may take your phone and SIM to a T-Mobile retail store for further assistance and a free SIM card replacement if necessary. Locate a T-Mobile retail store near you.
  • Unregistered SIM: This error may occur if your SIM card is not fully activated or if the SIM card registered to your account is different than the SIM you have in your phone. For assistance with this issue, please contact Customer Service.
  • SIM Not Ready: This error occurs when you have just powered your phone and is due to the phone not being fully initialized. Please wait a few moments before accessing your phonebook or placing a call.

Conversely, if you have a phone from another North American wireless carrier, you may need to request a "SIM Unlock" code from that carrier before being able to use a T-Mobile SIM card on the T-Mobile network.

SIM Unlock Requests:

T-Mobile customers must meet the following eligibility requirements before contacting Customer Service to request your SIM Unlock code.

The following restrictions apply to all account types:
  • T-Mobile can provide SIM Unlock Codes only for handsets sold by T-Mobile USA, with the exception of Danger Sidekick devices. T-Mobile can obtain SIM Unlock Codes for companies acquired by t-Mobile USA (VoiceStream, Aerial, Omnipoint, SOL, Digiph, PCS One, and Powertel).

  • SIM Unlock Codes are not always available from the Manufacturer. However, T-Mobile will make a dedicated effort to obtain the SIM Unlock code. Note: Other restrictions may apply depending on account type.
