Is it fixable??

I bought the below LG LCD 37" television in March 2006 and haven't had a problem with it since.......until today 26/09/2007.

I was watching it, when all of a sudden a small bang come from it and it turned off. I turned it off from the mains and on turning it back on from the mains, the standby light would automatically turn green, but nothing would happen (no noise and no picture) then the standby light would after a few seconds turn red (no noise and no picture) then again after approx 15 seconds the standby light would turn green again (still nothing). This process repeats itself.
The remote control doesn't do anything and when I turn it off from the mains and leave it off for awhile and then turn it back on from he mains the television would again start with a green light, then turn to red and then green again etc as described above...

So at the moment the screen is completely blank...Do i need to see a specialist or is there something I can do???
