According the manual you have to use the [Scroll-lock] key, but for some reason they don't work for me.

but ... CTRL CTRL [1 or 2] is working. Do not use the num keypad, it's not always working

Hopefully this will work also for you

It a long one, but it works...

Scroll-lock, scroll-lock, Up arrow, Scroll-lock, scroll-lock, Up arrow

Posted on Nov 05, 2007

Just spent 1/2 pressing
"Scroll Lock > Scroll Lock > 1" and
"Scroll Lock > Scroll Lock > 2".

This always worked before. But as everything that Belkin supplies is of a poor standard, it has got its knickers in a twist as is no longer responding. In this case the solution is to just take the monitor/keyboard/mouse out of the KVM Switch, plug it back in and it is reset.

Compaq armada 1571. Need to know how to access BIOS to check settings.

This machine ran Windows 95 making it an older Compaq. The following link describes how on older Compaqs bios was entered. On some machines, there was no hot key for entrance and another method was used. But try the F10, i. e. function key F10 at boot.

On booting it shows Intel AMT Error - Aborting, after a while it then shows 2207 AMT connection failure after which it finally boots to windows. its a hp compaq desktop dc 7700p mini tower convertible bios...

When you boot your computer, you need to hit the key to get you into the bios setup. F10, F2 or Del keys are the usual ones.

Once into the bios, change the boot order to make the CD drive first, and then you will boot right to the CD.

Note, you will also have to hit a key when it starts to boot, it will say, hit a key to boot from CD.

If you miss the key to get into the bios, you have to start over again. Sometimes you have to hit the enter bios key over and over to get in there.

How to use restore disc on hp 7700 mini tower

Good Luck. Most times the restore disc does not work. Basically you just put it in the drive then turn the computer on and watch for which key it says to hit to Change The Boot Order or Change the Boot Sequence. You have to hit that key when you see the message otherwise you will have to restart. Select your DvD/VD drive and just follow the instructions.

Hi There and Welcome to FixYa,

For you to access the recovery partition of your Compaq mini 110, here's a step by step procedure :
  1. Turn off your computer
  2. Except for the mouse and keyboard, remove all other USB devices.
  3. Turn on your computer and start hitting "F11" key repeatedly until you see a different screen.
  4. Follow the onscreen instructions until the recovery is completed.
Similarly, you can also obtain the "recovery cd" from their helpdesk support through :

Compaq Support

The link above will take you to Compaq's consumer support for more information on how to reach their helpdesk.

I hope this one helps you out, Thanks for using Fixya.

I've inherited my brother's old Mac Mini (upgraded to Snow Leopard from Leopard) and I don't know his admin password. He doesn't remember it either, though, how can i reset it?

If you have the instal disc boot up the mac with it holding down the c key. Once it has booted up you can then go up to the menus and use the change password command. Then restart. Hope this helps.

Hi. My mac mini started to get really slow. Now I notice the hard drive is filling up with something. 95 Gb was available - now only 75. iANtivirus did not pick up anything. Though it feels like a worm to...

It sounds like something is either corrupted on your system or one of the files in your mac mini may be suspect. What I would suggest is get your system disc boot the mac mini down holding down the c key on your keyboard. Remember to back up before you do this. Once it is booted up go to the file menu and find the disk utility. Open up the disk utility and first of all repair your disk permissions and then run disk verify and if an error comes up repair it.

Also download Onyx from this website http://www.switchingtomac.com/tutorials/keep-your-mac-running-smoothly-with-onyx/ which also talks you through the method of using it. I use it every month just to keep my mac in tip top condition.

If neither of these pieces of advice work. I would suggest installing a clean system. Again with the system disk in your computer restart your machine with the c key held down on your keyboard. Choose to do an install but remember to select preserve users. This will give you a clean instal with your files and preferences intact.

Hope this helps.

Number pad not working with a new Mac Mini

Hello, is this wireless or wired? Try a few things:
- Hit the clear key AKA Num Lock on the mac - Universal access can highjack the keypad if you have "Mouse Keys" turned on.
Either one should work, if they don't let me know and I will help you solve this issue further.

Computer will not start up

This is more than likely a voltage problem:

If Compaq: Hold the Fn + F10 or F11 while hitting the startup key.
If Dell: hold Ctrl+ Windows Logo Key.

hope this helps.
