Macro solution to search for character within a text string.

Access 2000 Macro solution wanted. I have created a macro that looks at an address field (43 Oxford St)and reads the last two characters entered to complete the address. For example if the last two characters are 'ro' it adds 'ad' to read road. Similarly 'st' would be concatenated with reet' to read street. This works well but there are some two letter sets that have multiple endings, e.g. 'gr' could mean 'grove' or 'green', ['me' = 'mews' or 'meadow']. In the underlying lookup table for these scenarios I have entered 'ove/green' [ws/meadow] as the text to be concatnated. Now I want to alert the person entering the data to select one of the options offered and delete that which does not apply. To do this I need to be able to search for a '/' somewhere in the text string and should one be found have a warning message pop up. If I could use a query I might be able to use Like "*/" but I can not find an equivalent in the macro formula. Anybody got any ideas. In anticipation of your help, thank you.
