SOURCE: "No Signal" when DVD player is hooked up via component video

If you are using the same cables, same input and the cable box works ok. I would look into the settings of the DVD player. Such as is it a progressive playback and is progressive turned on. It is not turned on by default because not all TV's could handle progressive in.

SOURCE: Sharp Aquos 46" HDMI problem

I have a similar problem. The Sharp TV aquos appears to be shutting down my blue ray player and dvd recorder when connected via HDMI. They work fine and never close down when I connect them via the rca cables either single video connection or a composite 3 cable rca lead. I have 3 HDMI inputs on the tv and the problem occurs on all 3. Any suggestions?

Can I hook my cable box into my Sharp Blu ray player

Curious why you would want to do this since both cable box and BluRay generate output signals. I doubt a single line pass-through would work since the last device on the link would override the signal with its own content when turned on.

If your TV or media system accepts multiple inputs, I would route each device to a separate input on the TV/MS and switch between them with a remote. I run HDMI lines out from both my cable box and BluRay box directly into the TV as two different lines and it works fine.

Solutions to watch Blu-ray movies on Mac and WD TV

Not an easy thing for Mac users to play back Blu-ray movies, even they are your personal purchasing. I’ve summarized three ways that Mac users have usually used to playback Blu-ray movies as following. Frankly speaking, the former two solutions seems a little troublesome, personally, I prefer the last one.
Solution 1: With the help of AnyDVD HD via Windows:
Requirements:
- A Windows PC with a built-in Blu-ray drive or an external BD drive.
- AnyDVD HD
- A Mac: MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac, or Mac Pro
- Latest VLC media player or MPlayer
How-To:
1. Insert your Blu-ray disc to the BD drive, and run AnyDVD HD to remove copyright protections of your disc, no matter what kinds of protections your BD discs adopted, BD+, or AACS, AnyDVD HD is capable of dealing with them. Then you will get unprotected.m2ts files after the access of AnyDVD HD.
2. Copy the .m2ts files to an external drive or a USB stick, whatever, just let the Mac be able to read them.
3. Use the latest VLC media player or MPlayer to play unprotected .m2ts files.
Solution 2: Running Windows on Mac via Boot Camp
What you will need:
- A BD drive
- A Mac
- Blu-ray playback software on Windows, like Cyberlink PowerDVD 9 Ultra
How-To:
1. Install Boot Camp and Windows
I do not mention too much about this process, because Apple has already given the full direction about it here.
2. Connect BD drive with your computer, and Playback Blu-ray via PowerDVD 9 Ultra on the newly installed Windows OS.
Solution 3: Rip BD with Pavtube Blu-Ray Ripper for Mac
What you will need:
- A BD drive
- Pavtube Blu-Ray Ripper for Mac
This ripper provides directly copy function as well as HD video output option, so there is no need to worry about the output file quality of your Blu-ray movie.
The above two methods are all depending on the assistant of Windows, while the third one is not, thus I’d like to show the detailed operating steps about this one in detail.

Easy-to-use steps:
1. Load BD files through "DVD Folder" or "IFO File".
2. Select audio track from the pull down menu of "Audio", both Dolby TrueHD audio and DTS-HD Master Audio are supported.
3. Click the drop-down list of "Format" to select output format. Directly copy, HD video, iPhone, iPod, PS3, and many other devices and formats are all supported.
4. Click "Settings" button to adjust audio and video parameters like codec name, bit rate, aspect ration, frame rate, sample rate, and audio channels(5.1 channels is included).
5. Click "Browse" button to specify save path.
6. Click "Convert" button to start conversion.
Once the conversion is done, you are able to find out the output files via clicking "Open" button. If you choose directly copy, you can use VLC or MPlayer to play the output .m2ts files, if you converted to other usual formats, like mov, mp4, then you can use QuickTime player or whatever to play back them.
Via the Blu-Ray Ripper for Mac mentioned in solution 3, you can also absolutely realize playback BD movies on your HDTV with WD TV. Both WD TV Live HD Media Player and WD TV HD Media Player are all workable with .m2ts files, and they also support Full HD resolutions up to 1080P in common. In order to reserve the HD audio and video quality of your BD movie, you can completely select "Copy"> "Directly Copy" to just get the .m2ts files as the original as long as your USB device has enough space to store the output files. If not, you can also consider converting BD to a HD video format to save space as well as keep HD quality of the source file.

Well, hope the above contents are helpful.

I have up dated a sharp BD HP22 blueray player so it plays new bluerays, but now it doesnt play normal dvds, what can i do. thanks

Check the DVD code written at the back of the player ( 1,2,3,4,5 or 6 ) and see if your disc code matches if not it will not play once you update the firmware. You see many of the players sold in the market have the DVD codes unlocked, but once you update the firmware it automatically goes back to its native region.

I updated software to my BD-HP22 with the US region but I use my BD-HP22 in Australia. My BD-HP22 now can't play normal DVD. I want to reverse my update. please help.

Word of warning Sharp does not prevent uploading from alternate region in error. I made this mistake and after speaking to Sharp UK cannot do anything but wait for newer version release if at all. once uploaded reversals is impossible.

Blue ray won't play Avatar?

There is a firmware update for the BD-HP22. I had the same problem with Avatar but after I installed the firmware update, it loaded and ran smooth. Use the USB flash drive that came with the player or any other usb flash drive to load the firmware update. Check the link below for instructions and update file from Sharp's website.

Hi i have a sharp hp22 i ham trying to play normal dvds on it ? is that possible

In general, Blu-ray player is compatible with DVDs. So you can play DVD on Sharp Blu-ray Player. However, some pretected DVD can be played on Blu-ray Player. As for How to remove region restriction on DVD for playing on any Blu-ray player, just follow below steps.
Step 1. Download and install Leawo DVD Ripper on your computer, and then kick off the program to enter the main interface. Import the DVD with copy protection on your computer by clicking Add Blu-ray/DVD. Once the protected DVD is selected, you will be provided three options to import DVD file(s): Full Movie, Main Movie and Custom Mode. Full Movie is to import all titles, and Main Movie only imports the longest title by default. And you are able to choose titles for importing under Custom Mode.

Step 2. In a drop-down box named "MP4 Video", you can click "Change" to enter the Profile panel to select the output format.

Step 3. Set a directory under "Save to" box. Finally, hit "Convert" button at the bottom to start the conversion process. During the conversion process, Leawo Blu-ray Ripper will automatically remove the disc copy protection and then begin the conversion in several minutes. With Leawo DVD Ripper, it will help do Blu-ray players play all region DVDs.

SAM BD-P1500 Remote won't work with Sharp LC-32D43U

If you are trying to use the remote that came with the dvd player you most likely can't get it to work with the TV. If it IS in fact a universal remote, then you need to check the codes that come both with the tv and with the remote. Post back with any more questions or info for further help. Thanks for choosing Fixya!

Problems with Sharp Blu Ray Player "copy protected signal"

Possible solution: You set up your remote to run your amp from the TV control, using the AQUOS Link. Even though your amp is out of the loop, it's still recognized by the TV. You might have to reset the TV back to default and run the AQUOS Link again.

Incompatible Disc in Sharp BD-HP21X Blu-Ray Disc Player

I had the exact same problem as you did... I bought the Sharp Aquos 42D85X which came with Sharp BD-HP21X Blu-ray Disc player. could not get brand new blu-ray movies to play and i found it froze everytime after 10 secs. I phoned sharp who basically were no help watsoever! I then went and returned my blu-ray movies back to the store thinking it was a problem with the discs.. The people there were extremely nice and since they had a display model of the BD-HP21X instore they offered to test the movie on it to veroify whether it was the blu-ray player was the problem or not. Turns out its a fault with all of the BD-HP21X models. So we then ended up returning it back to the store we bought it and exchanged it with the older model (BD-HP20X). I now have no problems playing blu-ray movies. Although another suggestion is to perhaps download the lastest firmware update & see if that resolves your issues.
