I have a Lincoln 305g welder with digital readout and the amperage reading is fluctuating wildly but doesn't affect amperage to stinger,do I simply need to replace the digital display

the digital display is just showing what is going on
the amperage is controlled by the voltage setting so the problem is most likely in the voltage regulator
take it in for a proper diagnosis and quote but guessing the fault is like throwing money away

I have a Lincoln welder 255 square wave an I can't regulate the amperage

weld current output regulation on this machine is usually accomplished by voltage supplied across a 50 milli volt shunt that is usually connected at one end of the main rectifier, if this shunt fails, or if the connections are loose or damaged, you will not have current control, your control board may also have some issues
Upon removing the machine covers, if there is no easily seen damage, it will be best to seek out and take it to an LASF for repair.

Craftsman 100ac infinant amp arc welder just stopped working ....the fan still runs. anybody know what's wrong with it????

probably over heated and blew the reset button
100 amp welders have a duty cycle ( time in actual welding use ) of less than 20%
that means for welding for five minutes you have to let it cool down for 20 minutes
the lower the amps the longer you can weld for
beware tat the total amperage of the welder does not mean that you can weld for a long time at that amperage
on the plate on the welder is the duty cycle and you have to be aware of it or the machine will shut down

Don't have any voltage or amperage adjustment. The display does not change

I need more. But this is a machine worth fixing and if time is money take it to the shop.
