Simplest thing would be that your component cables are not HU'd correctly. Having them reversed would do this.

There are three options:
1) Connect the Tivo using the coax output of the cable box into the cable input of the Tivo
2) Exchange cable boxes with your cable provider for one with composite output jacks. It may require you to use a Motorola box that isn't High def depending on what your provider has. I know Comcast has a Motorola HD tuner that has composite outputs as well as component.
3) Upgrade to a Series 3 Tivo. Those units are designed for High Def. Use HDMI cable hookup.

Chances are you've got your DVD player hooked to OUPUT jacks on the cable box, not inputs. I haven't yet seen a box that takes any kind of an input other than the cable line, but they will have RCA jacks for audio and video outputs on the back. So your cable channels are fine, but the DVD signal is hitting a dead end.
The only solution if your TV doesn't have RCA inputs for video and audio is to get an RF converter (around $10-$20). This takes the A/V signals from your DVD and turns them into a channel 3 or 4 signal that connects to your TV's antenna input.
The converter also has a connector on the back for the cable coming from the cable box, since you'll have to disconnect that from the TV. When the DVD player is off, the cable box signal gets passed to the TV as normal. Turn on the DVD player and the RF converter switches on; put your set on channel 3 or 4 and you'll see your video.
One final thing: The converter will need an AC outlet for its power adapter or power cord, so make sure you have a spare. If you don't already have your TV and DVD player connected to one, this would be a good time to pick up a surge-protector outlet strip. Then not only will you have enough outlets, you'll be protecting your equipment as well.
If this solution has given you what you need, please take a moment to rate it appropriately. And thanks for asking here!

SOURCE: GCS632U - Speaker issues
The only solution for great quality is to spend $150 more and purchase the higher end "Harmony" IO-Gear KVM switch, this works great! But if you don't want to spend that much, this is what I did with my IO-Gear GCS632U. I did RMA the first one and when the second worked the same way I realized I would have to live with it since I didn't have more to spend at the time! The video quality is terrible at high resolutions with this KVM, no MATTER WHAT!!! Playing with refresh rates helped a little, but I still saw some ghosting and interferance at times (most likely due to the lack of ferrite beads on the ends of the already "too small to carry a good signal" video cables), otherwise it looks and works great with resolutions under 1280x1024. The sound also suffers, obviously but I found out (using a multimeter) that the sound issue is due to the KVM unit trying to amplify the sound a little so to solve it I simply turned sound down in windows and increased the volume on my speakers until it sounded ok (if this doesn't work for you, try it vice versa).
Hope that helps!
