Need setup help with Emerson television model EWF2006

These are the setup codes for Emerson TV with this remote control.

1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
2. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
3. Enter the 4 digit code from the code tables. Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.
4. With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand.

You should be okay just buying any generic universal remote. Any remote requires programming to work with a specific TV, but universal remotes are easily programmable. The instructions included with the universal remote will detail how you program that remote to work with your TV (usually along the lines of simply putting it in programming mode, and pressing the power button until it turns your TV off, and then locking it in)

There is one way to try. I would have your playstation connected to the A/V of your TV. Power up your game. Now try tuning your TV to channel 3 of course. Now, press channel down on TV a few times...You may get an input. I'm not sure if this will help, but try anyway. If this fails, you need to purchase a universal remote with an input selection. I recommend a Philips remote. TV remote model # SRP 1003/27. This number is located just left of the universal price code. I found this remote as one of the best. no it is not a HD tv its a analog unit

If the Duraband doesn't work the Philips remote below worked on mine. If it doesn't then it probably is the sensor. I just purchased one of these televisions and it didn't come with a remote. However, a Philips Universal Remote (SRU2103/27)
with a code 0520 works fine. I haven't explored all the codes but I can easily change from tv stations to Video 1 and Video 2 merely by pressing the "Input" button on the remote.
