Maytag ldg26cs gas commercial dryer never shuts off, runs normally and drys clothes but never stops or goes into cooldown mode.

Sounds like timer is stuck in one place and not counting down, can it be done manually? If so replace timer.

My dryer will not stop running

Timer motor might be shot. Check it for continuity. If you cannot get a reading then your timer needs replacement. If the timer motor is fine check the heating element for short to frame.

The dryer works and heats up but it won't shut off

I believe that your timer has run out of time! ;) Seriously though, Your problem is more than likely your selector (the dryer timer knob) is worn out. Time to replace it with a new one.

Good Luck my friend!

Knob does not automatically turn so dryer does not shut off

Reach inside and clean these sensors so the mini-board can sense the dampness and power that timer motor towards the finish line. 73ce909.jpg
If that don't do it next grab the mini-board, yank it out and clean the corrosion on the contacts. If yours does not have sensors then the system relies on control thermostats to move the timer motor. If your dryer ain't a fancy model then the timer motor is simply shot.

Amana dryer not advancing on auto

Make sure the vent from the dryer to the outside is clean.
Reduced air flow can cause your symptom.

You can remove the vent hose from the dryer and operate the dryer in the automatic cycle.'
If the timer advances you know the vent needs cleaning.
Clean the lint filter housing also.
A flashlight helps to see all the way down the housing.

My dryer shuts off before it is done with the drying cycle there is still time on the timer by the dryer quits

1 all dryers have a cool down cycle from 15 minuts down
if this is not the case does it stop at the same place everytime
if it does you need a new timer

Timer and Shutoff

Go for the timer. The timer is nothing but a bunch of contacts and some minor electronics. When the timer reaches the end of it's cycle, it closes a set of contacts which sends power to the buzzer, which could be bad, therefore continued buzzing. If the timer continues on to the next cycle either the electronics or contacts are shot. This is also age dependant on the dryer how the timer is built. You might go into price shock depending on model. This is not ruling out that if you have a buzzer on off switch might be bad, but I doubt it. Hope this helps. If you are unsure and are good at reading schematics and a meter, then you can be sure.

Dryer keeps running

hi,

okay, the timer wont shut the dryer off right? okay so maybe a a stuck start button, unplug one of the leads after you start it, unplug the lead and advance the timer knob to off and see if that was it. higher end dryers have that auto dry sensor feature that is supposed to shut it off when its done. Study the wiring diagram and find the circuit for autodry feature and disconnect one of the leads off that thermostat try that
