If your door does not make click sound when depressed, that may be you problem. If it does it probably is your thermal fuse.

SOURCE: first time use, not working
The door switch is not closed or the board is not sensing the door is closed.
Push in at the top of the door to make sure it is latched at the top.
This is a common problem on the HE4's that was not a problem with the HE3's. We are hearing from Kenmore and Whirlpool that a fix is coming, a different latch I think.
Even if pushing in at the top makes it work, call for service so the problem can be addressed.
Post back if you have any questions.

unplug dryer remove the vent line and take off the back panel,on the left side you'll see the duct that your lint filter slides into,to the right of it around 4 inches up from floor you'll see a white thermal fuse part 3392519,check it with meter, now go back to the filter duct, take out the four screws and clean it out,bad air movement will pop the thermal fuse, then vac out the front of dryer, take out the two screws where you pull out the lint filter, get a screw driver and pop up the top lid of dryer, one side at a time, disconnect the door switch connector, take out the two 5/16 screws one on each side and pull up on front panel and vac out the inside of dryer, when you get it running,go outside and make sure the flapper is blowing fully open,if it isn't your vent line is blocked,if it's a long run i use a leaf blower and blow all the **** out of the line and then check the flapper again some of the lint can get stuck on it and it won't close correctly, clean the dryer once a year and you shouldn't have any problems,a little maintenance goes a long way

SOURCE: My kenmore 400 series dryer
There is a thermocouple on the inside that prevents the dryer from getting too hot. If this burns out this opens the circuit so the dryer will not work but all other functions will work.
