SOURCE: Keyboard not detected

There are some steps to figure out what is causing this.
If you have a desktop:
1. Replace with another keyboard that you know works.
If it boots, than it is the keyboard that was bad
2. If it doesn't - try getting into bios. There is a secion for
keyboard and make sure it is enabled.
3. If it is enabled, than it would be the port for the keyboard that
is the problem. You can take the computer apart an replace
it, or take it to someone who can fix.
If you have a laptop:
1. Add a keyboard to the computer.
2. If it boots, than it is the keyboard on the laptop. This could
mean it is not connected, you have the wrong drivers, or
try getting into BIOS like #2 above.
3. If the keyboard is enabled in the BIOS, reinstall drivers
first. If this doesn't work than there is something wrong with
keyboard (follow #3 above).
(BIOS - when computer boots up, look closely. There is a button you must press to get into setup mode (BIOS). I press F2 on my computer to enter BIOS. Some computers are different).

Hi, the CS62U is connected with an HP8750 (win2000) and a MSI WIND NETTOP 120 (win XP home). It works perfectly with the HP desktop but the mouse is not responding anymore.

Try this:
1. Disconnect your HP computer, so that only the MSI Wind is connected.
2. On the keyboard, hit [Numlock]+[-] then press [A] (this will auto-search for the computer that's connected, and connect both keyboard and mouse to that port).

Give XP a minute to detect new hardware. If XP does not detect the mouse, try plugging the mouse into a port directly on your netbook. If XP still does not detect the mouse, it's XP that's not detecting your mouse properly, not the kvm switch. :) If it does detect it, you should be able to then plug it back into your kvm switch and it should work at that point.
Note: if you get stuck with lights flashing on your keyboard, just hit [Esc] on the keyboard. That will reset the KVM switch.
Hope this helps!

Dell keyboard SK-8115

(That is the the Num Lock indicator, nothing to worry about.) If it is not working it is likely because USB keyboards can time some time to be recognized by windows, let the computer boot up with the keyboard connected and let sit for up to ten minutes.

Sometimes if other hardware is detected at the same time which requires drivers to be installed, windows will never proceed to installing your keyboard, however you cannot install the other drivers until you have a working keyboard. To solve this, you will need to use an older style PS/2 keyboard to get everything installed and working as they do not need to be detected.

Keyboard locked

if you have usb keyboard then remove ur keyboard and restart windows. when it goes on then insert the connector. it will detect that one and may be it start working. or go in properties of computer--->device manager--->usb composite device and uninstall it from the top bar and then install it. it will detect all usb devices including keyboard.

Keyboard detection problem

if the kb works on another system then the ribbion is ok, right?, the port on the motherboard is broken, which is almost certainly integrated(soldered to the board with no wires in between) which means to replace just the port you need to get a desoldering tool and cloth and a soldering iron(do not use a gun, they are not as acurate when working with this small of a space) and of course some solder, not to mention the replacement part or a more seriously broken laptop with the same part that you can take apart, seems like a lot of work to resurect a laptop, i would suggest a new board, new laptop or get a usb kb, maybe one of those rollup ones they sell on so you can retain some of the protablity, then again since the onboard kb is not functional it just sorta becomes deskspace for an external one. the fastest cheapest fix would be an external keyboard, next time i would recomend knowing what you are doing a little better before working on a valueable system or any that you cannot afford to loose, I see people break the ribbion cables and connectors all the time when working on laptops, its usualy because they dont know how to open the clips on the connectors, anyways try to be more careful next time
