Question about Topcase Rack BMW F650GS, 08- & F800GS, 08-

I have a f800gs bmw.floating disks on front wheel very loose and is irritating.Could the 650 daker front disk be fitted on my 21" front rim?ineed to fit two.

Is irritanting where applying the brakes? Or just because are loose when you touch them? If is the second one is normal for disks to move a little. If braking is not affected don't worry. Just check the disks with some gloves after a ride when the brakes are hot. You will see that the disks are tighter than cold.

My 2007 BMW G650XChallenge rear wheel starts to bounce at around 100kph,the faster you go the worse it gets, have had the wheel balanced tried different pressures, different tyres and adjusted preload...


Hi, Alex I feel your pain perhaps something on this list may help point you in the right direction and the usual suspects are:
1. Improperly loaded motorcycle. Non-standard equipment on the front end such as heavy radio receivers extra lighting equipment or luggage tends to cause unstable handling.
2. Incorrect air suspension pressure.
3. Damaged tires or improper front-rear tire combination.
4. Irregular or peaked front tire tread wear.
5. Incorrect tire pressure.
6. The shock absorber is not functioning normally.
7. Loose wheel axle nuts. Torque to recommended specifications.
8. Excessive wheel hub bearing end play.
9. Improperly vehicle alignment.
10. Steering head bearings improperly adjusted.
11. Tire and wheel unbalanced.
12. Rims and tires are out-of-round or eccentric with the hub.
13. Rims and tires are out-of-true sideways.
14. Shock absorber improperly adjusted.
15. Worn engine stabilizer links.
16. Damaged rear engine isolation mounts.
17. Swing arm pivot shaft improperly tightened or assembled.

2004 BMW R1200CL Loose rear brake disk


Have you changed the pads lately sometimes when they wear down it couses diske to get loose meaning you need to check it.
I had the same problem and thats what it was

Bmw f800gs starts and stalls after 3 seconds


Hi, Eddie the following applies to carbureted also fuel injected models and the usual suspects are:
1. Severely discharged or damaged battery, 9 volts or lower.
2. Failed alternator/generator and or voltage regulator.
3. Loose or corroded battery terminals and or cables especially the "NEGATIVE" cable, look for loose, corroded, or broken connectors inside the cable harness at "BOTH" ends.
4. Failed main circuit breaker or ignition switch, check for loose connections and continuity.
5. Failed system and or ignition relay, check for continuity.
6. Failed ignition coil, ignition/electronic module.
7. Failed CKP, CPS, CMP, MAP, TPS, or BAS sensor, corroded, loose or broken wire connector pins/sockets.
8. Throttle cables and or idle speed improperly adjusted hot idle speed should be 950 RPM to 1000 RPM.
9. Air/fuel mixture screw improperly adjusted.
10. Water or dirt in the fuel system, carburetor or filter.
11. Restricted, blocked or kinked fuel line.
12. Fuel tank empty.
13. Gas cap is not venting properly or fuel tank venting system blocked.
14. A failed fuel pump, pressure regulator and or fuel injectors.
15. Vacuum line from intake manifold to petcock broken, cracked, or not attached, carburetor vent line plugged.
16. Needle and seat stuck closed in the float bowl.

My 2000 650 dakar has 5000 miles with regular maintenance my problem is a flat spot in the power band around 5.5 rpm


the only way to fix the problem would be to upgrade your endcan or or carbs.it is a problem with all 650 dakers.just needs tunning up.hope this helps

Front Brake Disk problem !


I can eard a metallic noise from the front wheel. Since 2 weeks I'm looking to find where he can come from and now I think I've found and I'm a little bit frightened. This noise is comming from the front break disk they are moving in the screw place. See the picture Have you ever see this problem ? Is it Normal ?,I think it's normal mate. Semi floating or floating discs are fitted so they do move. Someone more knowledgeable will be along soon I'm sure to confirm or correct me!,,,
