when i press the record button nothing happens....it will play back, it will change files...but it will not record! Any ideas as of why?

I can not get it to record or play back. I have replaced the batteries but I do not recall how to operate the unit.

Which button is which? I have tried to find instructions online but I keep coming back to this site.

push play to turn the unit on, then record to record. Hold in delete and than push delete to delete a file if the unit is full to capacity.
