Question about

Open Question

I have waited patiently for one month to have a new compressor, the second actually, to be installed in my refrigerator. I've had excuses of broken parts, parts forgotten to be ordered, no shows on appointments by technicians and technicians blaming others on poor quality of workmanship for reasons of having the second "bad compressor". I have been told all refrigerators, my new one, is "supposed" to "run" all the time and that it really is running efficiently. I've been lied to four different times about all of the above. All I want is to have a reliable refrigerator that I can count on since this is a second home and has only been used half time anyway. I recently had bought all four of the major appliances from Sears, all Sears products, because I could count on Sears and their reliability; this is far from what has happened! What is the next step to resolve a non-working fridge for the past month? I don't want any more lies and or promises. I don't want to be told my contract says: the four time rule for the same problem in one year stuff. It has been four times for repair and no one has made it work yet, all the while I've had to depend on my neighbor to come down and wait for people who don't show up; this, since I work during the day repair techs are supposed to arrive. Please help the situation. I would like a replacement ASAP. I have spoken to: Rep: 01041. My case number with explanation by John is 1827210. I will be calling the Blue Ribbon personnel next. Thank you. Lori

Samsung Refrigerator Stopped Cooling months after New Compressor Was Installed

Corrosion is caused by the acidic flux used to make the solder flow. If the joints are bad, it is probably out of gas due to leaks.

Hi. We moved to a house with an integrated Teka A-FC1359 Fridge/Freezer. It was working fine. We switched it off 3 months ago. Now we've swithched it back on but it's not working.

It can be issue with faulty compressor capacitor. From main power outlet the power goes to capacitor beside compressor and from there power goes to compressor motor, then after that all unit works.May be that capacitor got shorted or loose from its actual connection.Or other possibility is faulty power wire of refrigerator.Get the wire checked with continuity tester to confirm its not broken in between.

I have Amana refrigerator, model # abb2524dew, the compressor dose not start, I changed the Relay/Overload with Start Capacitor, and still nothing is happing

ther are a few things this could be ...if you have a meter we need to make sure you actually have power coming to the compressor as you could actually have a bad control or a thermostat could be bad not making the call to bring the compressor on... when you unplug unit and wait a few minutes then plug back in do you here anything at all? is it hummming for a little bit then clicking off... if so the compressor could be locked up requiring a hard start device or just a new compressor totally. i fyou are not hearing anyhting confirm you are getting power sent to compressor if not may be a bad thermostat or control .good luck to you

Knocking sounds like something is knocking on the door

The knocking could be the damper if it last for about 5 seconds when the compressor turns on or off, or it can also be the refrigerant gassing off in the evaporator this sound can be really intermittent, but is normal with the refrigerants used today. However the compressor you see is actually the outer shell, inside of which is a refrigerant pump (i.e.: compressor) which is on internal support springs. When the unit turns off, the momentum of the internal parts can sometimes knock against the outside of the compressor case. The only "fix" would be a new compressor. However this does not actually indicates compressor failure and most likely will run many more years with no problem.

Our 3 months old refrigrator will get so cols that freezes food products.

There are actually 2 cold controls on refrigerator-freezers. The main control is within the refrigerator cavity, the other is located in the freezer cavity. The one in the freezer is usually only a cold air deflector. It takes the cold air that is produced and divides it proportionally between the freezer and refrigerator sides. Set the control in the refrigerator to about mid-range. Set the control in the freezer to mid range. That is your starting point. If the freezer is not cold enough, adjust the freezer control. If the refrigerator s not cold enough, adjust the fridge control. After any adjustments, you MUST wait at least 24 hours for the temp to equalize before making any more adjustments. It may take a week to get it set right. This is true for all refrigerator-freezer combinations. Be patient.

Water slowly coming out of dispenser

Is this a new Unit or a second hand unit? If it is not new... most likely there is debris in the water valve inlet or the actual saddle valve / faucett connection to the refrigerator water supply line is partially blocked.

Without a Model number to ensure the exact parts inside the unit for you to check is a bit of a problem.

Most of the water valves are the same and an example of yours would be item 10 of this link:

detailed view:
- What I recommend you do is disconnect the water supply line on the back of the unit and check 16 oz. of water flow at the end of the supply line. Water OFF before disconnecting the supply line.

- IF the water flow is the same as through the door you will need to find out why there is not enough flow from the water supply source.
- Additionally IF you have a water filter installed external to the unit... it can be clogged or full of sediment and need to be changed.
- If you discover that the water supply is of good quantity and pressure there is also the possibility of a pinched or kinked plastic water line some where inside the refrigerator.
- Sometimes the hose that passes through the door hinge flattens out and restricts water flow.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Refrigerator knocking noise

If it seems to be coming from underneath the unit it could be the compressor. Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman";} That's usually mounts inside the compressor. Usually when the compressor cuts off. It could still last awhile so if you can put up with the noise just wait for it to quit before replacing the compressor or getting a new fridge.
Any other noise would be from a fan. One in the freezer behind the back panel and one under the unit where the compressor is.

Have been waiting over 2 months for parts . frige

it is not the solinoid, your fridge probably had a leak and you let run until all the refrigerant gone out, this will force your compressor to pump nothing and eventually your compressor will give up. you should ask your technician to check the system first.

have it charge with refrigerant and make run again, lets hope that your compressor will work fine, if not then you'll need to replace a new compressor

Patient had hip surgury. went back to work part time. has part time medical insurance. been making small monthly payments to doctor. doctor now refuses to see patient. can he stop seeing her because of...

No, he cannot refuse to see her due to lack of payments, at least not in the US. Though I do believe there are plenty of other excuses he could use to say why he won't see her.

If there are no other doctors that the patient can see, I suggest getting advice from an attorney in the medical law field.

Kenmore AC Model 25370156000 keeps shutting off and on by itself

If you have just installed this unit in your window for the season, you may want to wait a day or so, for everything in the unit to settle, and try again. You make have shaken it up a bit too much. If not.....sounds to me like it is kicking out on high head pressure. This happens when refrigerant gets too low, or there is air in the refrigerant system. There is nothing you can do to solve this problem, except take it to a repair shop. If I am correct what happens is you turn the unit on, and the fan and compressor start simultaneously, then after a few seconds (maybe up to a minute) the compressor kicks off, and the air gets warm, then the compressor kicks on for a few seconds, and we repeat. This is actually a safety mechanism for the compressor motor so it does not run without refrigerant. (That would destroy the pump.)
