    The engine isn't getting enough fuel. Your carburetor needs cleaning. Generators are notorious for gummed carburetors because of the ethanol alcohol in today's gasoline and the generator sitting idle for weeks, months & even years without use wicks moisture into the fuel. Drain your carburetor of gasoline, & remove the carburetor. Clean your carburetor with Carburetor Cleaner spray & make sure the float needle valve & seat are clear of gum & varnish. To help prevent this from happening again, shut off the fuel petcock at the fuel tank and run the generator carburetor out of fuel before you put it away. It'll help keep the carburetor free of gunk. Also, replace the old fuel in the tank with fresh fuel every 3-6 months.

    Fuel leaking out of 2 hoses connected to the carb cant stop the fuel leak


    Inspect the fuel inlet hose closely. If you notice a wet spot around the hose where it joins the carburetor fitting, or the hose has become swollen, soft, brittle or hard, replace the fuel hose and the small fuel filter inside the carburetor fitting. Install a new worm clamp to tighten the new fuel hose to the fitting. Use a Phillips screwdriver.

    Check for a fuel leak around the accelerator-pump cover assembly. Some carburetor models come equipped with a diaphragm-accelerator pump on the side of the unit. If the cover screws have come loose, fuel will leak through the diaphragm and external cover. Look for a square cover on the side of the carburetor and tighten the cover mounting screws at each corner with a Phillips screwdriver.

    Look around the gasket located between the carburetor upper body and the main, or lower body. This gasket may have worn out or the carburetor upper body mounting screws may have become loose, allowing fuel to leak outside the carburetor.

    Ensure the upper body mounting screws are tight, if you found a leak. If they are tight, remove the clip holding the throttle linkage to the carburetor with a pair of needle-nose pliers and reposition the linkage to the side. The linkage allows the driver to operate the throttle plates in the carburetor through a cable when depressing the accelerator pedal. Unfasten the screws holding the carburetor upper body from the main body with a ratchet, short ratchet extension and socket. Remove the old gasket and install a new one.

    Inspect around the bottom of the carburetor where it joins the intake manifold if no leaks were found around the gasket located between the carburetor upper body and the main, or lower body. If you find a wet spots or marks around the bottom of the carburetor, the base plate gasket is leaking. Remove the upper and main carburetor body using a ratchet, short ratchet extension and socket. Install a new base gasket and replace the carburetor assembly.

    Oil runs out air filter


    If you have a fuel/oil mixture running out of the air filter, it is most likely you will need to service the carburetor. Today's modern fuels will, over time, gum up the carburetors and small passage-ways within the carburetor making the carburetor ineffective. A carburetor rebuild kit can be a DIY project. Mantis has a very good customer service department that can locate your correct parts and send them inexpensively. The needle within the carburetor (behind the 4-screw plate on the carburetor) is likely not seating properly and the fuel is flowing through the carburetor and out the filter. Thanks!

    When i accelerate there is hesitation and jerking? Once at a certain speed there is no jerking but if you slow down and then accelerate again it jerks/hesitates again.


    It means there is a problem in the carburetor of your car . But if then so you still have to check the accelerator springs and pedal. For there are worn out or destroyed parts then replace them for good .About the carburetor.Prepare the equipment or tools to be used in servicing the carburetor .So that when carburetor will be repaired or serviced no parts will be damage or lost. Locate the carburetor. Disconnect the fuel lines , the accelerator cable and the magnetic jet from the carburetor.Dis -assemble the carburetor.Clean carburetor with carburetor cleaner.Don't forget to observe safety rules. If there are worn out parts or destroyed parts then replace them .But you the owner don't have time to do the job then go to a car shop mechanic and let them do the job.

    the owner of the car should check on the carburetor of the car .The owner of the car should be able to service carburetor.Prepare the equipment or tools in servicing the carburetor .So that when the carburetor will be repaired or service no parts will be damage or lost. Locate the carburetor ,disconnect fuel lines accelerator cable and magnetic jet from the carburetor, Dis-assemble the carburetor ,clean the carburetor with carburetor cleaner, observe safety measures. but if the owner of the car don't have time in servicing the carburetor. then owner of the car is advice to go to a car shop mechanic and let the car mechanic to do the job.
