I have a piano made by Laffargue piano co ewyork. The serial number is 70805. The piano has Seaverns written on it. Can you tell me the age of my piano please?

(1905)!! Please Read On How To Tell How Old Your Piano Is !! I Learned This From Grandma !!
Piano serial numbers usually have five to seven digits, but may have fewer or more, depending on the manufacturer and age of your piano. Serial numbers may also include a letter as well.
Here are the TOP FIVE places to locate the serial number of your spinet, console, or upright piano:
Serial number locations are found:
1) On the piano's cast iron plate. After lifting up the lid, look along the top front area of the plate. The serial number may be to the right or the left, or in the middle.

2) Under the opened lid on the ledge, stamped on a little plaque, to the right or to the left.

3) Stamped on the back of the piano; near the top of the wood frame.

4) Printed on one of the hammers, found on either end of the piano (newer or imported pianos).

5) Printed on one the keys - behind the nameboard, inside the piano (newer or imported pianos)

Yamaha upright piano U1, serial number G1267822. Can you please tell me the age of the instrument, roughly? Thanks

With the given serial number I was able to determine that this piano was likely made between 1960-61.

Try this website for future reference: http://usa.yamaha.com/support/finding_age_of_yamaha_piano/

The serial number you gave falls between 124000 (1960) and 149000 (1961) which led me to my answer.

Hope this helps!

Chas f. Netzow upright piano Serial number 47686

I should write this out to save me keep typing it. Remove the front of the piano and the lid for the keyboard. Remove the middle C key completely. You may find the manufacture date and its full service history written in pencil on the side of the key.

Hi Robyn:
serial 10305
This was one of the original pianos made by this company in 1904. The serial number is the determining factor in telling a piano's age.

The worth rests on the piano's viability, configuration, and age.

Old uprights are generally worth little, especially if they are not serviceable. The furniture value is secondary.

If your piano is in perfect condition, inside and out, the value would top out around 200.00, USD.

What you have there is a typical upright piano, which more than likely has more furniture value than instrument value.

Age is not good in the piano world and pianos deteriorate year by year whether they are played or not.

Are you using this piece as furniture, or instrument?

What is the age of my Wurlitzer piano serial number 192157?

Free Piano Age Research Look here. It looks like it was built between 1939 and 1940. Go down the page til you find Wurlitzer; after 1937: The year built is found by finding the serial number 192157, which would be between 180000 and 195000. That would make it having been built between 1939 and 1940. Hopefully, that's correct.

I have a Wurlitzer piano serial number 1145135 and would like to find out its worth

Hi. Your particular Wurlitzer was made between 1970 and 1980.

By the low first 2 digits, I am gonna say 1970-71-72.

Now, as for worth, I would need to see the piano to make a value assessment.

Sight unseen, it might be worth $500-$2500, but it might be worth more depending on condition.

I don't know what part of the world you are in, but if you are in a large metropolitan city, then there should be a musical instrument repair shop, or a piano restoration company of some kind.
They do a terrific job at determining value on older pianos, and could even recommend people who might be interested in it.

I hope this helps you out.
Good luck to you Cindy, and have a good day !
