Sounds like you have a RAID. Take a look at the RAID management software and see if the RAID is degraded. If it is degraded you probably have a bad drive on your hands. Replace the drive and the RAID should rebuild. If it is not degraded. I would turn the server off for a sec remove all the drives and blow out the RAID carriage. I tend to do this anyway on our servers every quarter to keep the system clean and cool.
Hopefully this helps.

How to make a local disk d in compuer

Step 1:
Click the "Start" button and choose "Control Panel" from the start menu. Click "Folder Options" and navigate to the "View" tab. Scroll down and place a mark next to "Show drive letters," then click "OK." b> Configuring Drive Manager b> Click the "Start" button to launch the start menu. Right-click "Computer" and choose "Manage" from the menu. Click "Storage" in the menu on the right side to extend the section. Click "Disk Management" under the "Storage" header. This will show you a list of drives and removable storage on your computer. It will also report the status of the drives, such as "Healthy." If the removable storage does not have a drive letter or has a drive letter in conflict with another drive, you can assign it a new letter. Right-click the icon of your removable storage drive and click "Change Drive Letter and Paths." Click the "Change" button, then choose a drive letter from the drop-down menu. Select a letter that is near to the end of the alphabet to prevent drive overlap issues. Click "OK" to allow the changes to take place. You should now see the removable storage listed with your other drives on the "My Computer" screen.

When i try to download something it says connect storage media to save destination what does that mean and what can i do to download stuff without that coming up

File formats that the PS3 doesn't recognize as something that it can play, can only be saved to a USB storage device, or a memory card. You can't download anything to the PS3 hard drive via the browser that you couldn't copy to it from a USB storage device. That is what the error message means. You have to connect an external storage device, because the PS3 won't store this file format on the internal drive. This protects the integrity of the system. If you connect a USB drive or memory card (you will need a USB adapter for the memory card if you don't have a launch PS3), then you can download anything that you want using the PS3 web browser. Sometimes called a thumb drive, a USB drive costs about $20 and plugs into the USB slot and is removable.

Its telling me the hard disc is corrupt and is reloading it but it doesn't fix it and takes ages but is the same

Your hard drive has a problem and needs to be formatted. this has happened to me twice already but not with the original hard drive that came with the ps3, I changed mine to a 500 gig drive which had the problems.

the bad news is that you have lost everything that you saved onto the drive and need to reformat and reinstall the ps3 operating system.

If you go through the system settings there is an option to format the drive. Do that.
Then you need to get a USB flash drive, and follow the steps below

Download the update and save the file to a compatible storage device such as Memory Stick, Memory Stick Duo, a USB or PSP.

Before starting, use your PC to create a folder named "PS3" in the storage media or USB. In this folder, create a folder named "UPDATE" (the folder name is case sensitive and must appear in capital letters). Once the UPDATE folder is created, download and store the update for PS3 system software.

Once the update saved, remove the storage media and connect to your PS3 via the slots under the slot cover, or USB, depending on the storage medium used.

Once the storage media connected, go to Settings on the home menu of the PS3, select System Update, then update via Storage Media. Select the storage media connected to the PS3 installs the update data stored there.

Good luck.

Xbox 360 system will not reade any kind of storage format, like hard drive or flash drive in the usb slot.

If you have the Spring 2010 console update installed on your 360 console, you have to configure the USB device it before it is recognized by your Xbox 360 console. Connect your device, go to My Xbox menu, go to System Settings, then choose Memory. From here, select "USB Storage Device", and choose "Configure Now".
Your device will need at least 1GB free storage, and your console can use 16GB maximum of all attached USB storage devices total. Move the slider to configure the space to use & press the A button to set. Your USB device should be listed as a storage memory unit now!

Temperature Warning - Flashing red indicates that internal operating temperature has reached 43? C (109° F). ? Blower 1 or 2 Failure - Flashing red indicates a blower has failed. ? Power Supply 2 Failure - Flashing red indicates second power supply has failed. ? Power Supply 1 Failure - Flashing red indicates first power supply has failed. ?
