Have u tried a hard reset on their camera by removing the main power batteries for 60 seconds and the reinserting them as if it were the first time power up. This may not fix your particular problem, but when the processor that runs all of the electronic features of the camera gets confused, this is the best way to clear its confusion

The kit lens that came with your camera is quite cheap. Around £50.
Look for a replacement as it sounds like it is mis-alligned and the focus motor has broken.
You can then use the broken lens to tinker with.

I need the outer glass for my sal18250, the lens fell of my camera and chipped the glass on the outside, the lens still takes pictures fine it just depends on the way concert lighting hits the lens.

Sorry, but it's absolutely not a DIY fix. Your lens must be professionally repaired and it will not be cheap.

Get an repair estimate and then decide whether to live with the fault or repair/replace the lens.

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel after dropping it. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

Hope the advise is useful.

Regards
Andrea

Hi, allow me to suggest using another lens to see if you still see the dark patches in the top corners. If not it is the lens, if so it is the camera. Either way it sounds as though something is maladjusted. Call Nikon digital 1-800-645-6689.

How can i fix my kodak easyshare M753??

Sorry, but it seems that you have damaged the lens tube (housing), and the camera will require professional repair. Your best bet is to send it to Kodak (visit www.kodak.com), but you will have to decide whether or not the camera is worth the cost of repair -- factory repairs typically carry a 30-day warranty, so sometimes it's better to purchase a factory refurbished camera that comes with a full warranty.

Lens Error.

Try jiggling the lens. Use compressed air to blow out any grit around the lens barrel. If that doesn't do it, you'll need to get the camera serviced.

Dear schmex,
It sounds like you have a broken LCD screen this shouldn't effect the image quality, but it might get worse over time and it will probably make it more difficult to compose the picture.

The following blog outlines some repair options for a lens error. They won't work for all cases, but they're worth a try if the camera's no longer under warranty:
