What appliance is this? I suppose washer that wont start. Or does it fill and does nothing else?
Check power supply. Check Lid switch if this is a top loader machine (lid on top)
More info would be helpful.

SOURCE: kenmore agitates doenst spin

There are 3 things that may be wrong.
The timer is keeping the transmission in neutral drain.
The clutch is slipping.
The basket drive block that supports the basket has failed.
Aimiel is correct that you will need to see what is happening during the spin to diagnose the problem. Please post the complete model number from the top under the lid and I will try to walk you through checking it.
Thanks/Mike

SOURCE: agitator humms and won't move

It hums since the motor is still working. However the mechanism for the agitation is not working due to the helix part worn out. Need to replace it. If the service man is coming, have him to check the spinning mechanism also, since the same labor for the 2 mechanism. if the agitation mechanism worn out then the spinning mechanism is going to wear out soon. Now keep in mind that the clutch and the brake for the spinning mechanism are hardly worn out, only the part pushing up to release the brake is worn out. Keep this in mind to prevent overcharged.

When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem: It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer. It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

End of wash cycle, no draining or spinning, but can move to rinse cycle and it agitates again, no spinning after rinse either

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:
    http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action

Enter your model number and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

The drain and spin functions are started when the timer advances to the spin mode.

The motor is reversible. When agitating, the motor spins one way, when going to the drain / spin mode it reverses.

Since the machine agitates, the problem points to the timer.

My machine loads and agitates, but will not drain, rinse or spin

If this is a top load machine check the lid switch.
If you manually advance the timer to spin, open then close the lid, and get no spin, it is a bad lid switch.
If it does spin, report back for the next step.

Does it fill with "cold" water? Will it spin?Drain? If the machine will fill up with cold water, will the timer advance by itself to finish?Or if you place the timer in spin cycle will it spin?First off if your not getting "Cold" water to fill inside :Replace the water valve (because when the timer stops after the agitation cycle it wont advance because it cant fill up with cold water.
