Question about Zebra Office Equipment & Supplies

We tried to replace the print heads on 2 of our Zebra Z6M/ZM600 printers. It shows error 'Invalid Product' on the display. It is genuine Zebra part no G79058M from our regular supplier. How can we resolve this error?

Sounds like you will need to perform the calibration procedure.
when you access the menu system go to advanced menu, the password is 9999, use the keys to navigate to manual calibration and follow the instructions. when it states load backing this is refering to backing paper, so remove the labels from the backing and place in label path. hope this helps

First clean the sensor tag and sensor head open and tape. Then perform a calibration label pressing the PAUSE and FEED buttons and turn on the printer, release the keys until it starts to move the label. Wait until you are finished and ready to print.

SOURCE: Zebra ZM600 - ribbon in error

Make sure the ribbon sensor is in the proper position and that there is nothing covering it, like a piece of label that came off and got stuck to the sensor. Here is a picture of where the sensor is located. Did you make sure you put the ribbon sensor plate back in? If not you will get this message. Make sure the Print Method is correctly set! Although I exclusively use Thermal-Transfer (ribbon is loaded along with label stock) my 140xIII had Print Method set to Direct-Thermal and printed labels just fine. The only problem I could see was that the Ribbon In warning would not go away.
After changing the Print Method the warning went away and printing continues as before

You may have problem with your Printhead cable or Logic, I'd start by re-seating the cable on both ends. If that does not work I'd replace the PH as it will wear out eventually anyway if it is not the problem you can keep it as a spare. The ZM600 will take both a 203 and 300 dpi Printhead make sure you get the same one you installed currently.

How to printer test page from the display panel zebra zm600


With most Zebra printers, a test page is printed by pressing and holding the PAUSE key while turning on the power. Keep pressing the PAUSE key until the printer completes the POST (power on self-test), then you can let go. A test pattern will begin printing. You can stop the pattern by pressing PAUSE. Turning the printer off & on again is the fastest way to end the test. This is a good page to print because it prints a large black box and it's easy to see if there are any printhead elements not functioning. It's best to use the largest, widest label you have for this test.

I have a brand new Zebra ZM600 with new ribbon and new label. However, it is only printing half of a ticket, and what it does print is very faded.


If the problem is on the right side , try adjusting the head pressure adjustment knob on the top right side. You can adjust with a flat blade screw driver.
