I would recommend to contact the dealer from where the laptop was purchased. May be the problem is with the battery only. You better replace it with the new one.

My Dell Inspiron 3520 laptop is not charging, the charger/adapter is not working. I cannot fix it, bought new battery and adapter and they do not charge. What do I do?

Is the plug that you connect the adapter to still properly connected to the mo bo? If not, the adapter will not work nor will it properly charge the battery. Bet that if you charge that battery to another working laptop your new battery will take a charge.

Why isn't my laptop charging?

Remove the battery and let the computer sit for about 5 minutes. Replace battery and plug in AC cord. Try to start computer. If the computer will not turn on, then chances are that your battery is fully uncharged. Check to ensure that the AC charger is working properly (voltage test with multimeter). If the AC charger is not working, you need to replace it. The laptop should work without a charged battery if the AC adapter is functioning properly.

R60 When laptop power is off battery is taking charge properly. But when power on and boot the laptop then LED blink of battery is proper green but battery not taking charge. Pl. note battery and charger...

Check what battery profile you're using by clicking the battery. See if one of the more conservative profiles will let the battery charge.
Make sure all your drivers are up to date using Windows Update. Some power problems can be fixed this way.

Battery doesn't appear to be charging.

There may be several physical problems. You should make sure that the battery is properly plugged in and no switches that allow it to be removed are in the open position. Checking that the power cord if plugged in proper at the laptop, the power brick, and the power outlet may also solve the problem. If none of these work, try using a different power cord that fits your laptop if you can get your hands on one. You may also want to try a different power outlet, or make sure that power outlet can power another device (eg vacuum, phone) so you know if it's actually a problem with that power outlet and not your computer.

If you battery doesn't charge even with a cable that you know works for another computer, and the outlet is working properly, your battery may be corroded or suffering from over-use over a long period of time. In this case it would be best to buy a replacement battery directly from Dell which you can do here:

WHY BATTARY IS NOT CHARGING

hello mnavalgund,

there could be a variety of reasons. did u check if the battery is seated in properly.you also need to check if your power adapter is plugged in properly and you are using an original dell power adapter of the correct specifications.

ultimately,it could even be the battery has lost its basic charge that usually controls the discharge and charge cycles which means you might need to change the battery.

try taking it to a repair shop for confirmation;.

Battery not charging after os installation EVO N160 C

Lithium Ion batteries aren't something that you can really calibrate unless the laptop has a utility in the bios to do so (ASUS laptops). You either have a motherboard related malfunction in reporting the battery life as you say it does report in another laptop, or you need to update the ACPI driver which you can get from the manufacturer's website.

Laptop won't turn on

The blinking orange battery light generally indicates that the battery isn't working properly, usually going out and not charging properly. In this case, since the adapter will not power the machine without the battery, and it should, I'm going to say that the adapter is going out and not getting the proper amount of power to the system. Try replacing the adapter. Be sure to replace it with a Dell replacement, the Targus brand universal adapters do not work well with Dell machines, and in most cases won't work at all.

Acer laptop

If the machine works properly with no problems, it's probably the battery light, indicating that the battery is no longer working properly, ie.. not charging, not holding a charge, not charging completely, etc... and needs replacing. Somewhere right around the light there should be an icon or symbol, I'm betting a little battery icon.
