Out of coolant? Got a leak? May just be liquid in the radiator, switch off, turn it all upside down (emptied) for 30 minutes, then right way up, leave for an hour, then plug it in and switch on to see if it has helped to get fluid in the compressor. Cant hurt, sounds pretty bad really, sorry!

whatever,it cant not help,as long as you do a COMPLETE defrost(leave it for at least 24 hours.then dry out thoroughly.clean any drains/vents then restart as new.let it settle for at least 24 hours then check/refill.fridge is +5C...freezer is -18C,optimum temps...

SOURCE: Our fridgemaster mtrl170 fridge had a build up of ice in the top of the fridge. While I was away my partner took the fridge outside to defrost it and found the drip tray at the back was full of water
check compressor relay or" change it.
