SOURCE: ryobi bt 3000 table saw belt installation diagram

The BT3000 actually has TWO v-belts! Here's a link at the end of this solution to an exploded diagram. Basically you have a major disassembly, but it really isnt that complicated.

More great info on the BT3000 is available from the web site http://bt3000.com/

I have a BT3100 saw, and it is a good tool, but does require attention in maintenance procedures, but Ryobi did outline the necessary steps in their manuals. The above website also has the owner manual if you need one.

  1. Unplug saw
  2. Remove the blade
  3. Lower mechanism all the way to the bottom
  4. Flip over saw and lay on it's top
  5. Remove the blade guard panel opposite the motor
  6. Unbolt the motor assembly and remove the belt cover
  7. Replace the broken belts
  8. Re-assemble (be careful not to cross-thread the bolts in the aluminum housings!)

What I do is to take a photo of the wiring and effected area so I can refer to it when I get lost. Just replace each wire one at a time from the old switch to the new. Good luck

SOURCE: i need the wiring diagram for my 10 table saw

Im guessing ... the motor is 110 volt AC (AC dont care if it is coming or going) ... find the two terminals in the motor and hook the wires back up. If it HAPPENS to be incorrect, the saw will run poorly or the overload will trip.

I wouldnt be afraid to use this method on my craftsman table saw.

I have to replace the power switch on my Delta Shopmaster 10" radial arm saw. I have the switch, which is a Delta 438010170206S Rocker Switch has (4) terminals. I need to know which wire goes where????

How many wires do you have? The switch is probably a 2 pole, On-Off. If you have 2 wires, connect them to two terminals on one side of the switch (use an ohm-meter to find which terminals make-break). If there are 4 wires, connect the black and white power cord wires to different sides of the switch. Then connect the two motor wires to the two remaining terminals. DO NOT CONNECT THE BLACK AND WHITE POWER WIRES TO THE MAKE-BREAK TERMINALS OF THE SWITCH. This creates a short in the power cord and will trip a breaker.

DeWalt DW708 switch

This is the newer 744 series, white cord to white motor and black cord wire to black motor.

If your motor needs the mag starter that 5th loose wire, usually red, goes to the start terminal on the mag starter.

Ryobi table saw ...while being used...slowed down and stopped. the power switch bottom left terminal fried melted part of it and rendered inoperative

I had the same problem with my ryobi tablesaw.Because I didn't use the stand that came with the unit and was doing some heavy cutting-it didn't ventilate properly which caused it to overheat. My switch terminals didn't melt but the motor brushes housing melted.I could not repair it because what holds the brushes in place where melted away. You might be a little luckier and only have to replace the switch. It's very easy to do. Get another switch and follow the exact terminal wiring. The problem is that too much current is needed to cut your wood-whether the blade is dull, the wood is damp or too thick and possibly too much pressure is applied to the work piece and/or the motor has too much saw dust in it-blow it out with air pressure.Always let the saw do the work, otherwise too much current is going through that wire which powers it and heat is built up that the switch can't handle.

Not working

There are various causes of failure but the checks should be carried out in this order, you will probably need a continuity meter or multimeter to trace continuity from the plug to the motor:

Check overload circuit breaker on saw hasn't tripped. This may need a couple of minutes to cool down.
If plug is rewireable check for loose screws at plug pin terminals, loose fuses etc.
Wires in power flex breaking, usually at plug or where flex enters machine.
Faulty on / off switch or loose spade terminals on switches or faulty relay on switch.
Worn out brushes.
Armature or field coils of motor going open circuit.

Table saw model 36-650 suddenly stopped while in use. Checked the power cords, pressed the reset switch on the motor. What are the likely causes of failure?
