SOURCE: starts up good high idles misses messes around

should be more than 11.5v,, more like 13v running. If this only happened after a bath, check all the electrical connections, unclip the plugs and blow compressed air on them to dry them out. drain the fuel bowl as well by unscrewing the small screw at the bottom of the bowl.

The idle speed should be NOT QUITE high enough to rotate the chain when the chain lock is not engaged. There should be NO adjustment for high idle speed.

Why does my miller bobcat welder generator not stay at an idle when swithed to low idle, insted it goes back and forth to high then to low idle?

The unit may need recalibrating the idle/run setting. Instructions found in manual at 8-6 (subaru engine) and 9-5 (kohler). Idle speed around 2200rpm. Simple screw adjustment. PDF manual here :- http://www.millerwelds.com/om/o4434l_mil.pdf

Immediately after I start my '07 Corolla the idle speed is around at 1,400-1,600. This generally happens in the morning or after work. When that happens if I I let it idle for five minutes it goes down...

This idle condition is normal for a cold start, the computer is controlling the idle for proper fuel burn. It is not necessary to wait five minutes for the idle to come down. Allow about one minute before putting into gear and driving.

Starts up, runs for 10 seconds sticks and pops circuit breaker

your motor start capacitor on the side case of the motor is bad,get it replaced before you ruin the armature from excessive heat generated from the motor not coming up to speed soon enough and drawing excessive current to try and keep it running

When I have it on it stays on high idle speed. When I push the auto idle it will not change the speed to normal. It idles at high speed all time.

If you have anything plugged into the generator, consuming any electric, it will run at high. It must run at high speed to generate 120V. It will only idle if your turn off the load.

4000 watt buffalo tools generator: Engine Starts, but after a few minutes it cuts out and stops running. No appliances plugged in, drained gas(it did sit for 6 months), oil is full, Plug is good.

Idle speed jet or passage and/or high speed jet/passage is clogged. Remove the carb and inspect and clean thoroughly, then re-install. Set idle and high spped screws approx 1 turn and tune to run smooth from there.

Do you have the model and spec number for the engine?

Is it the high speed or idle adjustment?

Rule of thumb for high speed it turn in til snug and back of 1.5 turns; idle is 1 turn. Start engine and adj to ear.

Idles to high to much power

It idle to high because to much fuel input in the carburator. Try to adjust the speed to required frequency 50 or 60 HZ ( it depend upon the country you are living ). You cannot start now because the generator have overspeed protection or over voltage protection that may trip & need to reset before you can run agin the generator.
