How do I change the flint on my Cartier lighter?

I am not familiar with this particular lighter, however, changing flints isn't usually difficult. Could you post a photo of the underside of the lighter? Try turning the lighter upside down. There should be two sections moulded in the bottom of the lighter. One is the refill port you use to fill it with gas, the other will be the adjuster or mount for the flint. The flint holder is usually a Spring loaded tube with the flint mounted at the top end. Carefully unwind the screw or twist cap being careful the spring doesn't suddenly release. This should slide out letting the remains of the old flint fall out. You may need to GENTLY tap the lighter to knock out any dust left by the old flint. Insert the new flint, insert the retaining pin and screw it in until it is finger tight. Screw too tight and you could crush the new flint or damage the screw thread on the retaining pin.

How to fit a flint in a vintage dunhill pistolttable lighter?

On the underside opposite the flint there should a screw head.

Remove this screw (take care, there will be a spring inside!) .
Turn it over and the remains of the old flint should drop out.

Insert new flint and re-assemble.

Refilling a dunhill lighter

All rechargeable lighters have a refilling nozzle (usually at the bottom of lighter).
All the good quality gas refill cans have the nozzle adapters inside sovering cup.
Brake off the nozzle adapters off the cup and try to fit them onto lighters refilling nozzle.
When found the best fit adapter, put it onto gas refill cans nozzle and holding the lighter and can upside down connect all nozzles together and push together.
As these nozzles are made for mass production lighters, tey do not fit perfect and some gas leak will occure.
Anyway- few seconds will be enough to refill any lighter.
In case if your lighter do not refill by explained action, the refill nozzle in your lighter is damaged or faulty.
Hope it does help.

Do not forget to rate, please.

Dunhill cigarette lighter spare parts needed

Hi, Dan, I have 2 Dunhill ighters that work but they leak butane. Making them unfit for use. I would like to have them repaired/rebuilt. I believe they are 1960-70's vintage so, the lack of parts will definately be an issue here. Please advise. Thanks Glenn [email protected]
