Question about Husqvarna 580BTS Backpack Blower

1 Answer

I have a new Husqvarna 580bts backpack blower. I have run it for about 2 hours and the choke has to be open for it to run? The choke is supposed to be closed but when I do close it after getting it started the blower will shut off.

SOURCE: Husqvarna backpack blower 40 B stalls when going

The unit is running like that because of a lean condition. Depending on the situation it can be solved by adjustment ( Im thinking your particular unit may not have any adjustment) , rebuilding the carb ( carb kits are $15-20 from your local Husqvarna dealer), and/or replacing the fuel lines.

Testimonial: "Thanks. I'm thinking the carb needs rebuilding and fuel lines could be an issue. In checking some prices with Husqvarna 60 to 70 bucks to rebuild."

I have a husqvarnia 580bts backpack blower that dies if you open the throttle half way or better. I've cheched everything I would think could be a issue. Any idea what it could be?

see if you can adjust the air fuel mixture. if not i would say you need to take the carburetor off and clean it real good.

New Husqvarna 30 cc 2Cucle Gas Backpack Leaf Blower Can not get it to start. Need starting instructions.

Turn the switch to on, push the primer bolb about 8 times to get the fuel up to the carburetor, put the throttle about 1 quarter to a half way up, put the choke on closed and it sohould start. When it sputters open the choke slightly. Let it warm up and open the choke completely.

Runs rough at high power

clost the choke slightly and see if it smoothes out. If so then it is a lean condition. Check fuel lines and/ or rebuild carb
also check the screen in the muffler. If it is clogged clean it.

The best way to start cold husqv leaf blower 145

Most of the small outdoor power equipment that I have used takes the following to start:

1. Prime 6-8 times, or whatever the manual calls for.

2. Choke the carb to full choke.

3. Pull starter rope. It may sputter and die.

4. After it sputters and dies, put the choke on 1/2. Pull a time or 2 more and should start. Run like that 10 seconds or so, then take choke all the way off.
