SOURCE: Honda 5.5 hp air comp. no spark wont run

Most honda engines have an oil sensor that prevents the engine from starting if the oil level is low or oil is dirty. Test coil by disconnecting oil sensor wire. With sensor disconnected coil should fire. If still no fire, check kill wire for short. If still no spark, coil may need to be replaced. enjoy

SOURCE: my 97 honda accord is blowing white smoke and running rough then i went to start it now it wont start

Sounds like either a blown motor (rings need replaced) or a bad head gasket or cracked head.
If the rings are bad your car would have felt like it was losing power because the engine will no longer have the same high compression that it's required to turn the wheels. You may have heard your engine knocking or seen a light blue colored smoke coming from your exhaust as a result of your engine burning up oil in the combustion chamber from the rings leaking.
If your head gasket is leaking or your head is cracked you'd likely find milky looking oil when you drain your oil from water/antifreeze being mixed in and noticed a white smoke coming from your exhaust that is actually water vapor coming through the exhaust.
If your car was running rough when you last shut it off try pulling all of your spark plugs and either cleaning them or replacing them all. A bad head gasket or bad rings can both foul spark plugs. A car will run rough with 1 or 2 fouled plugs, but once enough foul it will no longer run at all just sit and crank over. If changing the plugs get's it started for ya, check your tailpipe first for water, if nothing, change your oil. If no signs of water/antifreeze or milky colored oil then it's probably rings.

How do I change the oil in a B&S Quantum 5 HP engine mounted on an older Billy Goat Vacuum

horizontal shaft motors mostly have a drain plug in the base of the crankcase ( 1/4 pipe plug either with a square head or hex hole) On vertical shaft engines there may be a drain hole underneath. Another way is to use a oil suction pump to suck the oil out of the filler hole.

How do I changes the oil in a briggs & stratton quantum 5 HP engine?

Remove the square plug on the bottom of the engine and the oil should come out. It will make a mess unless there is a extension tube installed. Reinstall the plug and refill in the dipstick hole.

White smoke or black? White means the carburetor is flooding. Black smoke could mean a clogged air filter.

Hi, Nirmala1865 your instrument gauges and lights can alert you to most electrical and engine issues they can not warn you about failed engine gaskets or seals so your engine has to resort to old fashion alert methods of colored "SMOKE SIGNALS" here is a breakdown of their meaning:
1. COLORLESS OR SLIGHTLY BLUE SMOKE on start-up means your air/fuel mixture is at the right composition and everything is well burnt in your combustion chamber.
2. BLUE SMOKE on startup is usually caused by failed valve seals dripping oil into the combustion chamber when the engine is not running.
3. YELLOW OR BROWNISH SMOKE at start-up means your air/fuel mixture is too lean. Too lean means that there is low fuel but high air mixture in your combustion chamber.
4. WHITE SMOKE on startup may be caused by a blown head gasket allowing coolant to enter the combustion chamber and may start dripping out of the exhaust pipes or mufflers. Smoke while riding is usually caused by worn out or damaged valves, seals, guides, pistons, rings, or cylinder walls.
5. BLACK SMOKE on startup is usually caused by too much fuel in the combustion chamber this can be due to air/fuel mixture adjustment too rich, accelerator pump improperly adjusted, faulty choke or not in the off position, air filter dirty and clogged, faulty carburetor float needle and seat, pilot jet too large, fuel injectors leaking, smoke while riding is usually caused by the main jet being too large or a damaged carburetor.
It should be noted that aggressive or abnormal throttle operation will cause these conditions to manifest themselves exponentially.

White smoke is classic head gasket problems in water cooled engines ... Your engine is air cooled but you can still have top end troubles. I suggest you have your motorcycle checked by a professional before you ride much more. info on your ride here: http://www.honda2wheelersindia.com/activa/specifications.html

white smoke is a sign of oil burning; could be a cylinder problem such as worn piston rings; check the spark plugs for signs of oil deposits

Wife put oil& gas mix in a 4 cycle engine and then it quit & won't restart. What to do to get it restarted?

Replace fuel, (it should run on the mix, won't hurt it.) Pull plug and see if it is wet (fouled) replace or dry off with a small tourch. If it was running ok before should go.

white smoke points to a head gasket issue, If your coolant is low and smells and looks weird then get the car tested to be sure.
