SOURCE: keyboard stuck in upper case

Is the caps lock light illuminated? If so, you might have to hold shift and hit caps lock to turn off the caps lock. This is an option for old typists who came from manual typewriters that you might have turned on by mistake.

SOURCE: types in upper case only (without caps lock/shift key locked)

in most cases yes, BUT since the light for caps lock is not comming on you might have a bad P.O.T. on the keyboard layer.. Since im assuming we are talking about a laptop..

SOURCE: Wireless keyboard will not type

Although Shift key is not pressed down, maybe the electronics are messed up due to shock if you dropped the keyboard. Turn off Caps Lock, go to text editor of your choice and try to type numbers together with some letters. If you get big letters, then Shift button is pressed down.

In both cases, just to make sure, try your keyboard on some other computer and see if it works.

If you find out that Shift button is always pressed, than it is a hardware problem that may or may not be fixable.

Is there supposed to be a caps lock indicator on HPw2207 keyboard,? If there is, I must be missing something I can never tell if I am in upper or lower case letters ( not too good when entering a password)

That model goes to a LCD monitor, not keyboard. Windows can make a tone when you hit the cap locks, so you can use that as indicator or you can use the on-screen keyboard which should visually show the cap locks being pressed.

My upper case S KEY WILLL only work if I have cap locks on. can you help me? ' Im using the MX5500 keyboard. thank you. Greg

Have you tried cleaning the keyboard, especially blowing it out with compressed air. Have you tried to use both shift button to see whether or not the problem is isolated to one shift button or both.Have you tried other letter with the same shift button that the letter "s" is having problems with. If this is islolated to just the letter "s" with the shift buttons then more than likely you will just have to use caps lock or buy another keyboard.

Keyboard locks into all CAPS

Just a thought...one time I had a button that kept stiking itself with out me touching it...I removed the keys aroud it, only to find a tooth pick had found its way into my keyboard. Everytime I would hit any of the keys around it, it would also hit that button too. Dont know if this is your problem but worth a look!!

Problem with sony vaio keyboard

Sounds like you've got something stuck under your shift key. Carefully clean out under the keys, try a paintbrush and a hoover (on low suction if possible).

Be careful not to knock any of the keys off. They're held on by small clips which pop out or break easily.
