Datacard printer invalid encoder plugin

Most likely your Mag-stripe info is missing from the card project in IDworks.
If you imported your projects from preface, its likly the box to include mag-stripe config was not transfer d.
enter idworks designer and click VIEW then field connections, there should be some info tied you mag-stripe field 1,2, or 3 of not there is the problem.

Next check printer plug ins in IDworks admin to make sure the mag-stripe plugin is installed. Also i would check Datacard.com Download section make sure you have newest and correct driver for your OS
if none of this works, uninstall everything (exporting projects) and reinstall.

Mag-strpe encoders can become defective, the encoder may need to be replaced.

One of several potential issues:

(1) you could have a ribbon that is not correct for the printer. Verify your ribbon part-number against those the printer requires to be sure. (Each ribbon has an RFID tag, and the part-number is included in the encoded info. The printer has an internal "list" of acceptable ribbons, and only those on the list will work properly.)

(2) You could have out-of-date firmware. There are occasional changes to the RFID tag encoding on ribbons, and the firmware has to be periodically updated to be able to use ribbons with the updated encoding.

(3) In very rare instances, an RFID tag's data is corrupted, or the tag is completely missing. Try another ribbon to see if this might be the cause.

(4) Datacard does have some printers that are "regional", and their ribbons are also "regional". What that could mean is that a European-sold printer would not work with a USA-tagged ribbon, and vice-versa. This is unlikely with the SP25, but possible depending on original configuration of the printer.

BTW - monochrome can work because that's the default printer setting when no RFID tag is present, or can't be read.

Datacard does not make nor do windows 7 drivers exist, the printer is obsolete and end of support from datacard was in 2006, you need to upgrade your printer. Check TulsaBiz.net or Midwestidsolutions.com for more info.

if you're using IE8 try the compatibility view,

Make sure that the page displays correctly within ie7 or ie6.
