What does fuse called radio-b do?

If your unit has digital display as most do now, RADIO-B will supply constant power to power the units memory so it can remember the preset channels, starting volume etc. The power antenna is usually controlled by a separate wire from the unit (normally blue) this wire supplies a low voltage signal to the antenna, The antenna will also have its own power supply and earth at the base of the antenna, the problem could be there. depending on the antenna, some have a controlling relay that is separate, again another possible source. there will also be a fuse in the main fuse box. These will all need to be checked, along with connecting a power source to the antenna to ensure the antenna does actually work.

What kind of antenna does it use

All CB radios use a loaded antenna to match impedance of 52ohms from radio to the antenna.

Mobile and home antennas with a meter (swr) are adjustable for the lowest possible reading----1 to one or up to 2 to one readings indicate a useable antenna.

Readings are adjusted by adjusting the antenna for the lowest reading in the middle of the channels (19 or 20) and some radios have the meter for this built into the radio and some do not.

Running a radio at high swr (standing wave ratio) of over 2 to one reflects the transmit back at the radio and can damage the radio.

let me know if more specific questions

I have a Brookstone radio that has no model number but in addition to the radio has fastened on the side a projector for showing time and temperature on the ceiling. The projector has gradually lost...

Hi, would love to help you out, will be difficult with out model...so what you need to do is to, contact the manufacturer.

I would suggest you contact the manufacturer of your Brookstone radio via phone or e-mail and request for the service manual from them or help. They might give it to you or direct you to a dealer where you can get the service manual.

This is the best you can do to get the service manual you are requesting for.

Good luck.

Tunning the antenna on radio shack cb trc-447

After installing the antenna, follow these steps to adjust the
standing wave ratio(SWR).
1. Turn on the CB.
2. Set S/RF/SWR/CAL to CAL.
3. Key the Mic and rotate SWR CAL so the meter points
to CAL.
4. Unkey Mic.
5. Set S/RF/SWR/CAL to SWR.
6. Key Mic again and note the actual measurement on
the SWR scale. Refer to the following table to interpret
the reading.

1:1 - 1.5 Great
1.5 - 2:1 OK
2:1 - 3:1 Not So Good
Higher than 3.1:1 Terrible

The ideal standing wave ratio (SWR) is 1:1, or a meter
reading of 1 on the SWR meter's top scale. A SWR ratio
of 1.5:1 to 2:1 is excellent for most mobile CB antenna
applications.

Check the SWR on Channel 1 and Channel 40
If the SWR is higher on 1, make the antenna longer
If the SWR is higher on 40, make the antenna shorter
Most antenna's are adjustable. Make small adjustments at a time.
