SOURCE: accessory hose not sucking

Try taking the hose off, and making sure it is not stopped up, either in the hose, or where it attaches. Straighten a wire coat hanger and run down the hose to check for obstructions.

Hope this helps!!!

I would try changing the belt. Even though the belt may look fine it can be stretched or worn and that can cause loud noises. You can get dyson belts here:

Have a bagged Biss ll Powerforce vacuum that has started making a loud rattling noise under the base of the motor compartment. Noise is louder when using the hose. Suggestions? Thank you!

Something broke or got sucked in and is trapped in there. Put it up on a table and take the bottom apart, it's time to clean the roller anyway :)

Vacuum works quietly and well when using the wand attachment, as soon as it is lowered into 'floor vacuuming' position it makes a very loud noise but doesn't seem to lose suction.

Hi Ismaias, it's Jack at Dyson.

The issue you're describing sounds unusual. If you think the noise coming from the cleaner head and brush bar is excessively loud, you might like to follow the steps shown in the video below to make sure nothing is jamming or obstructing the brush bar:

If you're confident there are no obstructions, but your machine is still sounding much louder than it should be, please do not continue to use your machine. At this point, it would be best to contact the Dyson Customer Helpline directly so we can provide further assistance. If a repair or a replacement part is needed, we can also confirm if this is covered under your Dyson warranty.

When you have your DC50 to hand, please give our experts a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Dyson dc 50 is not sucking intothe canister

    Hi, it's Jack at Dyson.

It's normal for dust and debris in the clear bin not to spin. There are ribs called 'baffles' at the base of the clear bin, which capture debris and force it to settle. However if the machine doesn't seem to be picking up as well as it should be, there may be a blockage in the cleaner head, internal hose or airways. This is quick and easy to check for and resolve, just follow the steps shown in our online Support guide:

You may also want to give the two lifetime washable filters a wash using cold water without detergent. In normal use we recommend washing the filters at least once a month. Allow at least 24 hours for both filters to dry completely before replacing them in the machine.

I'm confident removing any blockages and giving the filters a wash will restore full performance to your DC50. But if you'd like some further help from our experts after giving this a try, please call the Dyson Customer Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

My upright kenmore progressive vacuum will not suction up when using the sweeper. It will suction things when I use one of the tools. I have put in a new bag and have tried to see if anything is blocking...

I believe on the front top part of the vacuum is a cover. you need to take it off. behind it you will find at least two filters. You will need to replace the hepa filter and the other one should be like a thin black sponge, you can just wash that one.
If its not that then there are two clips on either side of the base of the vacuum. Pull those clips outwards, then lift the top off, you will see the tube that the hose attaches to. Pull the hose off and check for debris in there.
I hope that works for you.

    good luck

My Kirby G3 makes a loud, high pitch whistle with the hose

I would say you either have something stuck on the impeller or there is a piece of paper or something stuck inside the hose. its not clogging the hose but when the air passes by it. It is making that noise. If you find nothing you may need a repair. May have a bad bearing in the motor. Actually you can also try inspecting the brush on the head. It removes easily from vacuum and should spin freely and quietly.
