SOURCE: Sealed Burner
Ralph, you need to look at the electrodes at the burners. They might be cracked or dirty. It's very hard to tell sometimes when they are cracked. The burner cap itself has to have a good ground and the wires going to the electrode should be on tight. You can eliminate the spark module by switching the right and left side burner wires at the module. Once you do that, if the right side works ok, but now the left doesn't, you can be pretty sure it's the module...Catriver..post back.

SOURCE: Clicking sound on my gas stove
there switches behind each knob, 1 of them is broken,or wet, when you remove the knobs then remove the knob panel you can test them and find the bad one, they are no more then $15.00 each. to test you can plug the stove and disconect the switches one at a time until you find the bad one replace and you are back in bussines.

if there is one light for all the switches, you will need to unplug the unit, take off the top part of the back panel to get access to your switches. the indicator light is run to all 4 switches. you will need to unplug the wire that goes to the indicator light from each switch ( only one at a time ) and plug the unit back in each time. do this for every switch until the light goes out. whichever switch has the indicator light wire removed from it when the light goes out is the switch that needs to be replaced. if your unit has an indicator light for each switch, then just replace the switch that is above the indicator light. The nice grey-flecked surface coating is very thin; the solid black is underneath. You've "cleaned" the coating off -- that's why further scrubbing just makes it worse. We did the same thing :-(

You have a gas leak which resulted in the unwanted fire. This has the potential to be serious or deadly. This is one time when you need to get a pro in there to stop this leak and get your stove safe again.
