How do I set the remote access code.... I have a 6.0

RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol ) that is described above is the most ideal and best solution, but it is only available in XP Pro...not sure what vista ver, probably not home edition. If it isn't available on your PC your only realistic alternative other than using something like GOTOMYPC is VNC.

You'll have to install VNC (sourced below) and open up port 5900 to the internet on your router to your computer's IP. In these circumstances it not a bad idea to make your computer IP Static, so it doesn't change on you. Also look in your router for something called DDNS. you can sign up with websites like DYNDNS.ORG and you can reference your house by NAME instead of IP In the future. and it updates with you IP changes.

To access from work you will have to use a VNC client or the JAVA web client on port 5800. ..so basicly you would install VNC and both locations or find a "vnc viewer" tight vnc has a standalone viewer if needed. just google it

If all this is too confusing, seriously just use gotomypc...it costs a little bit, but its super easy Source(s): http://www.uvnc.com/download/

Having a problem getting DynDNS to pass through router and connect to my web server. Web Server can communicate with DynDNS, but an http or https request (ports 80 and 443) do not get to the server. I...

I did this with a cctv and another dns server and does not really work. So i just change my ip to static and open ports 80 and 443 and 8000 (server) and worked fine without using ddns or free dns. Oh and i use this to check my ports if they are working

DDNS with Belkin F5D7230-4

Hi ramwar,

The router is running a query on your DynDNS address and not finding it. You need to make sure that on DynDNS site that you've givin the router the exact and full address. As example. mbase.isa-geek.com would be a full address. On the router it has 3 boxes for the address. It's confusing, but it would look like this. Box 1 mbase box 2 would be isa-geek and box 3 would be .com.
Box 1 is for the name,
Box 2 is the domain
Box 3 is the ext.

Try that.

Good Luck

Users cannot print to network printer

Thanks for the info that others can print. Helps a lot.
Trying to think which way to head here..
Have you looked at the back of your computer where the ethernet cable plugs in and see if the green light is on next to that port? That would be the most basic thing to check to start.
Can you ping the printer ? If no, have you gone into the print driver and set the port to the proper IP address?
If you can ping the printer, turn off all the firewalls and spyware programs on the computer and try that. Often times firewalls block printers data from sending.
It really sounds like you have an addressing problem.
Find out the printers IP address, start there. Start with pinging to see if the connection actually works.
Once you do that let me know the result and we will move on from there.

DDNS

Currently the only DDNS provider that the DI-604 support is DynDNS.org. When configuring these routers to work with DynDNS.org, please use members.dyndns.org as the Server Address.

Update DDNS automatically

Dynamic DNS (Domain Name Service) is a method of keeping a domain name linked to a changing (dynamic) IP address. With most Cable and DSL connections, you are assigned a dynamic IP address and that address is used only for the duration of that specific connection. To properly configure the DDNS feature follow the steps below: Step 1 Log into the web based configuration by typing in the IP address of the router (default:192.168.0.1) in your web browser. The username is admin (all lowercase) and the password is blank (nothing). Step 2 Click on the Tools tab and then click Misc. If you have the DI-614+ with firmware 2.30, click on Tools > Parental Control. Step 3 Enter the required information under Dynamic DNS: Server Address: Enter the IP Address or domain name of your DDNS server (IE members.dyndns.org). Host Name: Enter the Domain name that you registered with your DDNS service provider, (IE mydomain.dyndns.org). Username Password Step 4 Click Apply and then Continue to save your changes.
