I own a Ajanta Quartz odc 170 wall clock but have misplaced the operating instructions. Can someone please help me with the setting instructions. Many thanks. Joshua

There is a sliding button on the back side to the right of inner frame. The slider has "Normal -> Time -> AL SNZ -> CountDown->Timer" marked on it.
You need to move that button to time basically to the right side and then user up and down buttons to adjust the time.
Hope this helps.

DATE WONT CHANGE

If you have the crown in the first click position (date set position) the date set wheel is most likely damaged. Otherwise, if it does not change in 24 hours, it is the date wheel itself that is damaged.

This happens in all watches over time, as even quartz watches must technically be serviced every 3-5 years. 90% of manufacturers quote this as the standard service rate for quartz and mechanical watches.

If this watch has sentimental value, and you will want to contact a local Certified Master Horologist or Certified Quartz Technician about replacing the movement. Replacing Timex movements is generally more expensive than purchasing a new watch.

If the watch is still in warranty, you may consider contacting Timex about replacing the watch free of charge at: custserv@timex.com

I have an old ladies dress Chopard watch - oval shaped gold with diamonds on the band. I inherited the watch from an estate. I wore the watch from a month and then it just stopped. Should I take it to a...

You need to first know if it is a Quartz watch or an older Wind Up type. I am guessing, since you have been wearing it and do not mention winding it, that itt is probably a Quartz movement in the watch. However, to be clear, If it is older than about 1970 then it is definitely Not Quartz. Then might be what is called an Automatic movement, which is actually a Self Winding Movement mechanism. If newer than 70, could be either Quartz or WindUp. If it is Quartz then the problem is most probably that the watch needs a New Battery. This can be done at a local jewelry shop for around $8 to $15. If it is a Wind Up style then it would need a more complex repair. But sending it to Chopard is still the Last Resort as Chopard could charge you $400 to repair it, I am not kidding, haha. But take heart, most probably you have simply got a Dead Battery and your friendly local watchmaker or jewelry store can fix it for you fast and cheap. Good Luck, W.
