    • What is the problem with your Toshiba laptop?

Is there a Power on Password, or a hard drive password required?

      OR

Is a Windows user's password required?

Depending onyour answer, then I can advise you your options.

It must be removed with a hardware device I have. Or youy can put a new hard drive in the unit.

I had the Hard Drive Password Frozen problem on a Toshiba A200-EZ2205. Was rebuilding it for a customer, XP would not see hard drive to install, I change to new HD, same problem, formatted externally, all that stuff. So far the way I got around it is to Install Windows ME, it took, now to upgrade to XP............of course I don't have much hair left after that.

Without the hard disk password it will prevent you from accessing the hard drive even if you get the Windows password right. There are no backdoor passwords to get into the hard drive even if you put the hard drive into another computer.
If you don't know the passwords then the only option is to buy a new hard drive and install Windows. If you enable passwords write them down and store them in a safe place.
