Why would my 2500 soundstream Rub1 amp keep going into protection mode

Take a look inside it could possibly be a/some capacitor/s. If it is replace more than just one because they can also be going bad. This is a cheap fix they cost less than one or two dollars a piece.(if this is the problem)

Protection light on

check your speaker wiring for shorts (+ & - wires touching)
check that for shorts between your 12v constant and Ground at amplifier.
If these are fine it may be an internal problem.

MY soundstream LiL Wonder 4.620 is only going in protection mode

Disconnect all speakers Meter power, remote, ground at amp, if all is good move on, if not check main fuses
Turn amp on; If in protect mode then your amp is toast Turn amp on, if not in protect mode then start reconnecting speakers one by one until your amp goes into protect mode, then you'll know which speaker is bad.

I have a brand new soundstream xxx 6500d amplifier and when i installed it for the first time protect mode light come on even without rca jacks and speaker wires hooked up. any1 can help?

You need to plug in the RCA and speakers you could blow the amp. The amp is sensing no Input and No output. I would unplug the amp wait around 30 seconds then install the rca and speakers THEN install amp to battery + cable. You should be ok.

If it was properly fused, the fuse should have blown without causing any other damage. If it was not properly fused, it probably caused the reverse protection diode to short and burned a trace on the circuit board.

Any competent repair shop should be able to repair it unless the reverse protection diode opened instead of shorted. If it opened, the damage could be much more severe.

Amp staying in protection mode

No, this amp is not a heavy power consumer- matter of fact it takes very little power to run.Maybe you should check the fuses on the amp to see if they are what is recommended. Also check your fuse kit to your amp- your fuse might not be big enough. If neither works take it back where u got it.
