Re: i need a solution for my amp

Your XM-SD22X amplifier only has 2 channels. If you want to run 4 speakers then you could parallel 2 speakers on each channel but you need to check that the impedance is not too low. If it is too low then put 2 speakers in series on each channel but this will not be as loud. Regards

I have 2 4 ohm 12" audiobahn jw1251j and a 1500 watt mono planet audio amp. what ohm do i wire the subs to the amp

depends how low your amps impedance goes down, if it can handle 2 ohm then you have to connect your speakers parallel to it (both speaker plus to amps plus and both speakers minus to amps minus) this will result in 2ohm speakers. if your amp does 4 ohm then use either one speaker for 4 ohm or two speakers in serial connection (in row) but you will have then 8 ohms.

I have two type-rs hooked up to a mrp-m1000 and its not hitting hard at all! but when one is hooked up it hits harder than two... so is it the way its hooked up or do i need another mrp-m1000 amp? or can i...

If the speakers are rated at 500W or greater, then you'll need two amps to get their full potential. When you connect two to a single 500W amp, each speaker only gets a max of 250W. Also, check the ohm rating for the outputs of the amp and the ohm rating of the speakers as well. Unmatches speaker/amp impendence also results in poor performance. If you connect two speakers to one terminal, the total impedence of the speakers falls by 1/2 (two 4 ohm speakers wire together will result in 2 ohm impedence). So, if you have an amp rated at 4 ohms, you could connect two 8 ohm speakers to a single output. Hope this helps some!

Wiring Speaker to amp

remove all speaker connections to your amp. MAke sure the inputs are driving all 4 channels, and that the built in crossovers on the amp are all set to full range. Conect your full range speaker to each output channel one at a time and verify there is oputput on all 4 channels. If all is ok, then connect your rear speakers to the front(a) outputs of your 4 channel amp, and then use the second 2 channels (rear or B) bridged to drive the sub. Re-configure the crossovers for highpass for front (to drive your rear speakers) and lowpass for sub. This is the proper way to connect a 4 channel amp with a sup whle driving 2 full range speakers.

Hello, I have a 2000 VW passat with a Monsoon radio system. How do you install a new head unit and speakers while maintaining the factory amp? If this is impossible, Can I use the current speaker wires...

Hello ctr1russo,
While it's not impossible to install a new head unit and speakers and leave the factory amp, it'll be a real bear of an install.
In order to work, the Monsoon amp needs 6v which is provided on the speaker leads. An aftermarket head unit will not provide that. Best to just install a new amp.
You should be able to use the wiring, including the speaker wiring, with no problems.
Check out for the appropriate adapters and wiring harness for Monsoon equipped vehicles. Just enter your vehicle info and it should bring up the required adapters and harnesses to make everything work properly.
There are three ways to connect more than one speaker to a single channel: 1) Parallel - both speaker +'s and -'s wired together - load impedance will be halved (2 4-ohm speakers in parallel equal a 2-ohm load). 2) Series - The + of one speaker wired to the - on the other speaker and the remaining + and - going to the channel output - load impedance will be doubled (2 4-ohm speakers wired in series equal an 8-ohm load). 3) Using a crossover - connect the bass speaker (woofer) and the input of a high-pass filter directly to the channel output and the treble (tweeter) speaker to the output side of the filter. In any of these connections, you want to make sure that the load (ohms) your amp "sees" is not less than it is rated for. Most amps will work into a 4-ohm or a 2-ohm load with no problems. Going below 2-ohms is bad, because it will cause the amp to overheat and possible fail. Going above 4-ohms is no problem for the amp, but it won't produce as much power (watts) at the higher impedance and your speakers will not be as loud as they could be.
Hope this helps. If it does, please rate as "FixYa:. Thanks!

I have Kicker ZX 650 4 channel amplifier and 4 DB drive PT6.2 mid range speaker. I want to hookup my speaker in 2 ohms. The operation manual for the amplifier can be used in 2 ohms. I need to know how to...

As far as I am aware you need to get 2 ohm speakers. I run a 4 ohm subwear as the Alpine Type R sub is 2 ohms. I'm not 100% on this though but you may get around it by bridging your speakers by connecting both speakers to the amp as normal but swapping the speakers negatives around! That may cause the amp to run as if only at 2 ohms. Hope this helped!

Help me...

If you had 4 single voice coil speakers you can create either of those 2 ohm or 4 ohm setups. If you run 2 of them in parallel you will get the 4 ohms. If you run 4 of them in parallel you will get the 2 ohms. In parallel I mean that you connect the positives together and run them to the positive on the amp and the connect the negatives together and run them to the negative on the amp. Let me know if you need more help. Good Luck.

run a wire from the battery to the place u are putting the amp. place a fuse in that wire no more than 10 inches away from the positive batt terminal. find a bolt near the amp and see if it is grounded. if so connect a wire from the bolt to your neg terminal on the amp. then run a remote wire and your rca from your radio to the amp. then connect a set of speaker wire from the amp to the subs or speakers

Wiring question

Hi, If I got the specs right, your amp is a 4 channel hence the 4 RCA inputs. Probably the simplest would be to feed the 2 X RCA out of the deck to the 1 & 2 RCA in of the amp. This amp has also a line out, feed the amp's lineout back to the 3 & 4 in. This way, all four channels get same input from the deck and you will have identical power to all 4 speakers (front & rear). An afterthought is to also use the 4 outputs of the deck (since they are there anyway and it is not a good tech practice to leave outputs without load/speakers) and connect 4 mid-range or 4 smaller speakers. Hope this be of some idea/help. Post back should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards.
